(associate professor of chemical and petroleum engineering) talked about how she arranged active learning and used "near peer" to facilitate student learning.

(KU Libraries) shared their ideas of implementing open educational resources in physical and social science classes. They also discussed how involving students in creating open educational resources is a way to empower student learning.
Ward Lyles
(associate professor of urban ulanning) shared dos and don'ts in building teams and ways to use groups effectively.

Students who spent their spring break in Scottsdale, Arizona, covering the Colorado Rockies minor league prospects will give a presentation about their experience at 10:30 a.m. May 9 in the Clarkson Gallery. Reduce stress during finals with mindful meditation
|
Mindfulness and meditation activities can help evoke relaxation responses and reduce stress.

president of the Mindfulness & Meditation Club, and
Associate Professor Yvonnes Chen
have curated digital mindfulness resources to help combat stress during finals week.
During finals week, Stauffer-Flint 312 will be one of the Reflection Rooms available on campus. Other Reflection Rooms are in Anschutz 320L; Burge Union; Danforth Chapel; and Watson Library, level 5.

The JOUR 201: Journalism in the Movies class is hosting journalism movie night on Mondays during the spring semester. The last movie of the semester is "All the President's Men" at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Room 100, Stauffer-Flint Hall. All are welcome.

Ike’s Soldiers, a program that honors Dwight D. Eisenhower’s legacy through the compelling stories of the soldiers he led, is looking for students to gather and share these stories with the world through IKEducation programs and digital media platforms. Participants are asked to capture and edit videos according to the Eisenhower Foundation’s guidelines. For every interview that is submitted according to the guidelines, the Eisenhower Foundation will grant $50 to the student who conducted and produced the interview.

Several former William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications alumni visited
Mike Vrabac
's Sales Strategies course on April 29. During the semester, students in the class visited seven businesses in the Kansas City area to learn about their unique value proposition and sales process. The alumni were on hand to hear those presentations and offer feedback.
