A Wonderful 8th Chinese Cuisine Contest
On Wednesday, March 27th, ACA and the Wayne State University Confucius Institute successfully co-hosted the 8th Chinese Cuisine Cooking Contest at the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit . ACA Line Dance Group won the first place; Asian Normal Family Team won the second and Westland Seniors won the third place.

The Chinese cuisine has always been a banner representing the Chinese culture. ACA has always been committed to the promotion of Chinese culture and the community health. Specifically, all of our cooking contests are aimed at promoting the mainstream community's understanding of Chinese culture and a healthier food culture. These goals are also contributed by various festivals and celebrations held by ACA year around. We welcome the continuous participation of community residents in the future.

ACA 2019 Youth Cultural Summer Camp
The Association of Chinese Americans, Inc. (ACA) is continuing its long tradition of offering a Youth Cultural Summer Camp in Canton/Plymouth . This year’s camp will run from July 15 to August 2 , Monday to Friday from 9AM to 3:30PM with extended care available in the morning and afternoon (for a fee). Students ages 5-14 are welcome to participate. No Chinese language skill is required.

ACA’s summer camp has a 20-year history, popular among both Chinese and non-Chinese families. As part of its mission of cultural sharing, the camp has allowed countless students to explore and experience Chinese culture, as well as to develop a passion for their roots. This year’s program will continue a focus on culture and language learning, with special cultural activities such as traditional crafts, calligraphy, Chinese yoyo, opera, songs, dance, cooking, and more. The camp also emphasizes developing leadership skills, learning teamwork, and how to better appreciate and understand ethnic diversity. Campers are divided into groups based on age.
