Bill 3, The Pay Transparency Act, 2018
, which recently passed third reading in the Ontario Legislature, amongst other things, will require employers with over 100 employees to file a pay transparency report annually. This report will include compensation data (i.e. salary range) segmented by employee demographic characteristics already referenced in other existing workforce legislation (e.g. Pay Equity, Employment Equity). Bill 3 seems to be more focused on larger firms as 28% of Ontario businesses have fewer than 100 employees

Opioid crisis has been a buzz word in the media for the last few years. Canadian statistics report that from January to September 2017 there were at least 2,923 apparent opioid-related deaths, of which 92% were accidental. 72% of these opioid related deaths involved fentanyl or fen-analogues compared to only 55% in 2016. These statistics are alarming and give insight into the severity of Canada's opioid crisis. Canadians need better solutions for treating pain and this needs to be a national priority.

The Physical and Economical Impact of Migraines
Over the years, many theories have evolved surrounding the nature of migraines. Today, it is understood that hormones such as serotonin and estrogen play a major role. A trigger event will stimulate nerve cells in the brain producing waves of electrical activity spreading throughout the brain. Depending on affected brain regions, various bodily functions (i.e. vision, balance, speech) can be disturbed before the onset pain. This is known as an aura. Only about 25% of migraine suffers will experience an aura.
