President's Message
This past week, Impact 100 has been celebrating! The Focus Area Committees have completed their work of selecting the 2018 Grant Finalists, and our Community Investment Review Committee (CIRC) has completed its work of confirming the financial viability of the organizations and grant proposals.

As a result, on June 26th, at Carnegie Hall in Newport with over 200 guests, we were delighted to announce our six 2018 Grant Finalists.

The Six Finalists are:

2018 Finalists

Ninety five Letters of Intent and twenty-four Grant Applications were reviewed before narrowing down the list to these six initiatives.  Please join me in congratulating these finalists!

We hope you can join us for the Annual Awards Celebration (AAC) on September 13th.  This event is the highlight of the Impact 100 year - an opportunity to learn from the Grant Finalists as they share the transformation they hope to bring to reality with Impact 100 funds.  Share a meal, learn about our community, meet other women, and cast YOUR vote for the 2018 Grant Recipients.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, I can promise it will be a fun night where we will award FOUR grants of $104,000 each.

You can help us make a greater IMPACT by inviting your friends, family, and colleagues to attend the AAC.  This event not only showcases Impact 100, but the incredible hard work and community change that our Grant Finalists are working to make in our tri-state region.

With gratitude,
Clare Zlatic Blankemeyer
Impact 100 President

Women At The Table: Will You Pull Up a Chair?

Did you know that Impact 100 started right here in Cincinnati?  To understand more about our history,  click HERE!

Many social change movements like Impact 100 were created when women gathered around a kitchen table (i.e. the violence against women movement). Those women listened, connected, and took action to create movements that have lasting impact and change.

Here's a reflection of "joining at the table" to launch Impact 100 by founder, Wendy Steele:

"The Impact 100 model was conceived in the summer of 2001, while I was on vacation with my kids in northern Michigan. From Michigan, I reached out to several Cincinnati women whom I believed could play pivotal roles on the leadership team of such an organization, if we were to create it. Their responses were positive and quite encouraging. However, upon returning home and getting the kids settled back in school, 9/11 happened and the whole world changed in one dreadful morning.

Several months later, I gathered the 15 women who had been identified as the potential leadership team together for dinner. With the heavy weight of world events on all of our minds, it was at that table, when we all asked ourselves whether we should move ahead with this new concept of a pass-through foundation.

In my mind, I knew that we could only move forward if at least ten of these women were ready to commit to launch. It turns out, that every one of those women felt as strongly as I did. We made the unanimous decision to build Impact 100 over dinner in November of 2001."

In this similar spirit, Impact 100 has something to offer you (& a friend): Kitchen Table Revival.   Kitchen Table Revival was created by an Impact 100 member** to revive, resurge, and reclaim a circle. Are you busy? Or working too much?  Long to connect to new people OR people you love but haven't found the time to rekindle your friendship?

What is Kitchen Table Revival ? Think: book club without having to read anything. Add in: a social change and personal transformation twist.  Women Together.....Changing Lives.

This three-part series will be held at Neal's Design Remodel
7770 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249
Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays (October 2, November 6, and December 4)

Impact 100 Board Nominations
Summer is HERE; Impact is in high GEAR!  Focus Area Committees have chosen their Grant Finalists. Recruiting and Membership are engaging current and future members.  Communications and Marketing are keeping members and Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky/Eastern Indiana informed.

The Nominating Committee has completed all of the 2018 board member interviews. Next steps will be to collate the data, determine how many volunteer board members will be staying in place for 2019, identify anticipated openings for the 2019 board & begin candidate interviews for the open positions.

If you have an interest in becoming more involved in Impact 100 and would like to explore what a board position entails, please contact us at  nominating@impact100.org .

Impact 100 Digital Voting Orientation
Thank you to all who have already completed the voting orientation! If you have not yet voted you should have received a reminder on June 29.  The subject of the email is:  Impact 100 - Digital Voting Orientation Reminder  and it was sent by: Impact 100 ( invitations@app.electionbuddy.com ). The orientation will extend through mid-July so that all have time to complete.  We encourage all 2018 members to vote in this orientation to confirm your understanding of the process. No reminders are sent to those who have already voted .

While the online poll is certainly helpful in obtaining feedback regarding Impact 100 strategic priorities, it also ensures there will be a critical mass of attendees at the Annual Awards Celebration who are familiar with the system.

If you are a 2018 member and did not receive the email  please check your spam folder. For questions or comments contact Donna Broderick at    governance@impact100.org.

Thank you for helping us utilize new technology!

(Please note; There will be paper ballots available at the Annual Awards Celebration for those who are unable to vote online.)
