Safety Protocols - Reminders to Parents
Lock down drills are a necessity in helping students to prepare for emergency situations. The drills allow for students to understand how our safety protocols work and how to think and act if we go into lock down mode.

It is imperative that parents do not notify their daughters that a drill is about to occur. It defeats the purpose in preparing students for critical thinking and problem solving when the need calls for it. Please allow us to teach them necessary skills for safety while they are under our care every school day. 

Drill alerts go to parents so that they are aware that our lock-down is a drill. In the future, I ask that you not communicate the drill information to your daughters. I am grateful for your cooperation.

Upcoming Senior Events and Reminders
Seniors received a list of important upcoming events and also reminders about finishing the school year strong by upholding their academic responsibilities as priorities. 

Any senior who has incomplete school work or is failing a class will not be able to participate in senior events until assignments are completed. Also, any senior who has missed more than the 20-day limit for absences will need to make up time before graduating.

Senior Parents: Caps & Gowns
Today your daughters will be receiving their caps and gowns for Baccalaureate and Graduation.  In addition to their caps and gowns, they will also be receiving invitations, name cards, and tickets.  
Music Department Performance
Concert Choir, Vocal Techniques class and Chamber Music class will perform for faculty, staff and students at lunch on Thursday, May 17 in AP Room.

Jenkintown Community Band Performance
Enjoy an evening with the JCB as they perform music from "Latin America and Beyond" on Sunday, May 20 at 7pm at Saint Basil Academy. 
Calendar Change:
Thursday, May 24 will be a full day, regular schedule.  
Friday, May 25 will be an early dismissal (12:00pm) .

Transportation Information for Early Dismissal May 25
The following buses will provide service for morning drop off and pick up at noon on May 25:

Abington
Centennial
Cheltenham
Lower Moreland
Neshaminy
Upper Dublin
Upper Moreland
Wissahickon

The following buses will only drop off in the morning. Students must make other arrangements for noon dismissal.

Hatboro/ Horsham
Springfield

Septa buses will not be here for noon dismissal. Students may get the bus in front of school on Fox Chase Road. You will need to check with Septa time schedules.

All Students:
Check the SBA website for Summer Programs  and Naviance for scholarship opportunities.

Please check out the updated summer course information through the MCIU/MVP Program. All information for Credit Recovery and Course Advancement appear on
the SBA website.  If you are interested in a summer program, please see your counselor.

SBA will be offering an SAT test during the school day on October 10 to all seniors at a reduced cost. The test will be administered on the same day as PSAT 8/9, preACT and PSAT testing. More details will follow.
