April 2019  (No. 80)
Welcome to our newsletter.  Once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
Dunvegan

Dunvegan is very close to completion, the next phase is sitework now that spring is almost upon us. Owners have moved in and are very pleased with the operation of the mechanical system and efficiency of the house. It might be the best insulated "castle" in the world. Construction by Colt Kwiatkowsky.
Views from the Job Site

Round Pond Crossing is uncovering from the winter season on an extremely tricky site to access. DMA solved the access problem to the cottage by bridging the main entrance and bedroom wing across the steep slope to the driveway. We did not solve the road access to the site as that road has swallowed a couple of trucks this winter. Construction by Chapman Construction.
Maine Magazine

At a recent Cinq A Sept, sponsored by State 23 Media (Maine Magazine and Maine Home + Design), David and I were catching up with Nichole when we posed for a photo that ended up in the magazine. Cinq a Sept is a networking party with no agenda, you can sign up for invites here.
Bike Ped Committee

Haley, from our office, was recently appointed to the Bath Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, which  advocates for healthy and safe bicycling and walking in Bath and in the Bath region AND also the Zoning Board of Appeals. Congratulations Haley for these appointments and the investment in our community. Photo is a croquet bike rack in Scottsdale, AZ.
Doppelbloopers and SYTYKB

The Doppelbloopers next show is Saturday April 20 at 7:30pm at the Bath Golf Club. Bath's favorite improv group is back on stage with musical guest Tweed Johnson. Tickets are available here for $12, and $15 at the door.
Main Street Bath's popular game show, So You Think You Know Bath is back on Saturday May 4, co-hosted by our very own...Cathy Matero! This event
is  one of the reasons we fell in love with Bath.
Breezy Bluff

Gypsum board arrived last week at Breezy Bluff. This major renovation on the rocky coast opens up stunning views of the ocean. The interior will be light-filled with a modern touch. Construction by John Totman.
On the Drawing Board

DMA is working on a couple of projects for a client with a contracting company in Portland. An addition and reorganized circulation system will make this renovated project much more efficient. We were able to reduce the anticipated size of the overall project by creating an efficient design. The project is going through the site plan review process.
