Celebrate the end of the summer camping season by joining us at Little Notch from October 13-15 as we take down the big tents, close up the camp for the season and prep for winter camping. Families and dogs are welcome and there are tasks for every skill level! This is a really fun weekend - the leaves are amazing colors and the air smells so good! Bring your camera - autumn at CLN is stunning!

Be sure to register early so we can plan our group tasks. Please help us by inviting your friends and co-workers. This is a great community service opportunity for students. Our Stewardship Volunteer Team will be hosting the weekend and will have several major and minor projects that must be completed (all skill levels and physical abilities are welcome and needed). We welcome groups coming to do community service. Great for Scout troops and college groups!

Projects may include taking down tents, cleaning the kitchen and dining hall, cleaning up program areas, painting, shutting down the water system, securing the boats and waterfront equipment, and more. All participants are asked work for six (6) hours each day, leaving time to enjoy CLN in the afternoon and evening. We will show you how to properly take down the big tents!

On Saturday we take down the big tents! On Sunday, we clean up camp, put away supplies and program items, and start to drain the water system. The Friday and Monday overnights are offered for those coming from a distance. Monday breakfast will be pot luck and served in the staff house.

The kitchen supervisor for the weekend is a paid position. If you can come for all the days and want to cook for the volunteers and start to clean and shut down the kitchen, email Tess for details at Tess@friendsofcln.org. There will be a kaper chart so several folks can sign up to help prep and clean up after each meal.

We need special volunteers for additional kitchen help as well as Lifeguard Certified help to button up the waterfront. We are also looking for a person to stay at main camp to greet, organize and keep folks informed of tasks that need to be done.

Bring your own pop-up tent because the platform tents will come down. There is indoor space in the Sleepy Hollow cabins, Brookhaven, Cook’s Cabin, Pine Point, Innisfree and Rockwell Health Center. Some folks like to “camp out” in the dining hall by the fireplace. Email Tess with any special needs. There will be a sign-up for camping space when you arrive and sign in. There will be sign-ups for specific areas and tasks in the dining hall, as well as hand-outs with instructions for specific areas. Thank you to previous Stewardship Weekend folks who filled out the post-event questionnaire and gave feedback so we can continue to improve our systems!

If you have questions, or if you are interested in volunteer or paid positions, please email Tess at Tess@FriendsofCLN.org.

In order to help keep Lakes Pond clean and free of invasive species, we DO NOT ever allow attendees to bring their own boats, kayaks, canoes, etc. We do have a variety of watercraft at CLN for your boating pleasure. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Registration is mandatory even if you are only coming for a day and bringing your own food.

Weekend fees are to cover the cost of food only:
Adults and Children 6-16
2 Overnights with meals = $20
1 Overnight with meals = $10
Meals only - not staying overnight = $2/meal

Children 5 and under free (childcare is not provided)

It is FREE to attend and stay overnight if you bring your own food.

We have significantly lowered the price of attending this weekend so that it is not a burden on any of our members. If you wish to make an additional donation to offset some of the costs, please click here to be taken to our donation page.

Children are welcome! There will be plenty of tasks that kids can do. Campers who register for and participate in Steward Weekend with their families earn a $50 discount on summer camp fees! Childcare is not provided so the caretaker of the children must be responsible for their supervision and all applicable waivers must be filled out and signed.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome but you must bring a hard copy of an updated rabies vaccination certificate, and they must be leashed or tied at all times.

We encourage everyone to bring your own rakes, shovels, work gloves, and water bottles.

No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please email Tess@friendsofcln.org to inquire about participating if you are unable to pay our meal fees.

The following weekend, (October 20-21) is a Pot-Luck Button Up Weekend where we take care of unfinished business and shut the water down completely for the season. This is when we deal with the nitty-gritty of the building plumbing systems, deep clean the kitchen, set up Brookhaven for winter overnights, and finish any tasks left undone the previous weekend. To register for the October 20-21 Pot Luck weekend, please email Tess.

Payments are handled through PayPal. You are not required to have a PayPal account. You can pay with your credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) — all without having a PayPal account. Complete the registration, then click on the button to pay and follow the "Pay with a credit card" link on the PayPal page (or login to pay via your PayPal account).

Please note: You can register multiple people on the same registration form by using the "Add Friends/Family" section (please use that section to register children 6-16 years old). However, you will only receive one email confirmation.

Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE after September 28, 2018. Please email admin@friendsofcln.org prior to that date if you need to cancel your registration.
