GRADING & FINAL EXAM INFORMATIONGRADING
As we get ready for the close of the 1st semester, we wanted to remind our community of our grading policies and processes.
SUMMATIVE GRADES
  • Students must have EIGHT (8) SUMMATIVE GRADES in order to get a grade for the semester.
  • The NINTH (9th) SUMMATIVE GRADE is the FINAL EXAM. The exemption policy is below.
EXAM EXEMPTION & SCHEDULE
In order for a student to be eligible for an exam exemption, they must meet the following criteria:
  • Complete ALL EIGHT (8) SUMMATIVE ASSIGNMENTS/ASSESSMENTS
  • Be PASSING THE CLASS for the SEMESTER. The student does NOT need to pass every summative to be eligible for the exemption.
  • If the student only has SEVEN (7) summatives completed, THEY MUST TAKE THE FINAL EXAM.
  • Also remember - if a student has NOT completed 80% of their SUMMATIVES they will receive an INCOMPLETE for the semester.
PLEASE NOTE: Students who are eligible for the FINAL EXAM EXEMPTION are NOT required to attend that class on the day of their scheduled final.
SPRING SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTSCHEDCHANGE
Schedule Change Requests for Spring: www.bit.ly/miltonspringschedule
This form may only be submitted once and will be available until 12/16 at 4:00PM.
  • Students will need to sign in with their school e-mail address to access the form.
  • Requests for changes will not be accepted through any other format and may take up to 3 business days to be processed.

Please note Fulton County Board Policy allows for changes the first ten days of the course, not of each semester.

Course changes will be considered for the following reasons:
  1. Senior needs the class to graduate
  2. Class that has already been taken or passed
  3. Class for which student doesn't have pre-requisite
  4. Transition from Milton to a virtual class (3 class max for FVS/GAVS)
  5. Transition from virtual class to a Milton class

Thank you!

MHS GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT

PROJECT RECOVERYGADOH
The Georgia Department of Public Health and Georgia Recovery Project are offering free and confidential counseling services to individuals and callers needing support or resource information due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The lines are staffed by caring professionals who are trained in crisis counseling and operates daily from 8:00AM to 11:00PM.

COMMUNITY OUTREACHOUTREACH
The PTO provides assistance to families in need in our community from funds designated for outreach in our budget. With your support, we have helped several families this school year who have lost employment due to Covid, a recently widowed mother with seven children and a family who lost their home and belongings in the recent hurricane. We will continue to work with our school social worker and provide support to families. We've also created a way for you to donate directly to our outreach efforts. Please go to: bit.ly/miltonoutreach to make a direct contribution. All donations will go toward gift cards for the families to use for groceries, clothing and household essentials. Thank you for your support!
GRADUATION 2021 INFOGRADINFO
As we head into second semester, still in the midst of the pandemic, the school district's graduation plans are still uncertain. HOWEVER, we do know that the Class of 2021, the 100th MHS graduating class, will have a celebration! Regardless of what the celebration looks like, graduates will wear their caps and gowns, receive their diplomas, get their pictures made, and be celebrated by families, friends, MHS staff, and PTO. In order to start the preparations, it's time to pay the graduation fee and place orders. The mandatory graduation fee this year is unchanged from last year: $80. This includes the cap, gown with 100th anniversary embroidered patch, 2021 tassel, special 100th anniversary diploma cover, and small MHS administrative fee. Our graduation business partner, GA Balfour, collects the fee for us and fulfills the orders. Please see the flyer for ordering details and instructions. The minimum that must be chosen for graduation is Option A - Grad Fee Only. Graduates are free to choose one of the other options offered by Balfour which will cover the mandatory grad fee plus some extra optional items. Act now-the first deadline with the lowest fee is January 31, 2021.
*This fee is specific to graduation and is different from the PTO Senior Dues.
If financial assistance is needed, please email the senior's counselor OR the school social worker (Patrick Hartigan) at hartigan@fultonschools.org General graduation questions should be sent to Jackie Angel at angel@fultonschools.org
COVID REPORTING PORTALC19PORTAL
As students in Fulton County Schools (FCS) have begun returning to face-to-face instruction, a number of changes were implemented to ensure the health and safety of students, staff, and visitors. Among the most vital of these changes is the development and introduction of a new electronic FCS COVID-19 Reporting Portal for parents (and students). This electronic reporting process will allow for a more direct reaction from primarily the Fulton County Board of Health (FCBOH) with support from FCS to promptly respond and address student/family cases of COVID-19.
