Share the Plate:
In November all designated funds and half of all undesignated cash will be donated to Camp Corral. Camp Corral is a 501c3 that gives children of disabled veterans and those killed in action a free week of summer camp.
Love Notes
Each month, there will be a different group at Live Oak featured in our "Love Notes" appreciation program. You're encouraged to grab one of those pink sheets and let the group know how much you appreciate what they contribute to Live Oak life. November love notes will be for our Stewardship team. The Live Oak Book Worms will meet on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:15 pm at the house of Becky Southard in Hutto. Our text is THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING by James Patterson and Bill Clinton. This mystery story is quite a page turner. We also have to select our next book, so bring your ideas.

Honor Your Furred or Feathered Friend
My name is Keegan Sarwate and I'm an 8th grader and member of LOUU. For my Scouts Silver Award, I'm building a pet memorial garden on our church grounds, in early 2020. There will be a rainbow bridge and memorial stones to honor the pets you have lost. You will be able to bury your pet's ashes, or just remember them with a stone. There is no cost for burial or memorialization if you provide your own stone. If you would like to have a stone pre-painted in a base color for you to personalize, please send an email to cindylagreca@gmail.com for instruction.

Nominate orgs for Share the Plate today!
You're invited to nominate nonprofits for next year's Share the Plate (STP) calendar. Each month, through the STP community outreach program, Live Oak donates 50% of collection plate cash and any STP-specified funds to a nonprofit that aligns with Unitarian Universalist values. Find the form here or send an email to sharetheplate@liveoakuu.org. The STP team will be accepting nominations through November 25th.

Live Oak Women's Stitching Circle

The holidays are around the corner. Got a craft project in mind?
We do all kinds of crafts and stitching together. Sometimes it's the only time of the month that we do! Come join a circle of women who support each other - and not just with our handicrafts - on the third Tuesday of the month. And best of all, we typically share laughs while sharing crafty knowledge.

HELP DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO OUR NEIGHBORS 
Friday, November 15th @ 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Live Oak parking lot. This is when we distribute the food to our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down the tables, help with the selection of food, and help carry food to our neighbors cars. You do not need to remain the entire 2 & 1/2 hours.

Fall Campout a Success!
About 25 Live Oakers embraced joy and enriched connections at the fall campout last weekend! Friday was cold, but Saturday turned out to be beautiful weather and we made the most of it with hiking, swimming, lots of good conversation, a great potluck spread, s'mores and music around the campfire.
Blanco state  park is small but very pretty with lots of mature shade trees. I especially like that everything is close together and within walking distance of everything else -- the campsites, screen shelters, the river for swimming and canoeing/kayaking, the nature trail and paths along the river. I'm hoping to have our spring campout there in March or April. More info on that coming soon! - Jen Swan

Faith Development
 Here's what you need to know this week!
It's nearly pageant time! Watch for a signup sheet in the next couple of days for ways to participate and support this multigenerational event.
Elementary class continues their five-week unit on loss. We will take a break next week for a special project for our neighbors, but will finish up the unit during the first two Sundays of December.
High School and Middle School will continue their look at the principles by focusing on our 3rd principle - acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth.
Adults are invited to participate in our final session on "A Good Death." You do not need to have attended other sessions to participate. Regardless of your age, this class will provide information on the practical aspects of preparing for your own death or the death of a loved one, and how to deal with the legal side of death. No registration is required.

here, including the link to sign up for the groups. The dates and times for the meeting will be determined as the group forms. The goal is to offer these six-session groups three times during the year, so if the first group fills or the timing doesn't work for you this fall, we will keep your name on the list for the next offering.
We really need help in our nursery/preK rooms, as well as a couple more elementary age volunteers. Let's grow our base of adults sharing the journey with our children, youth, and adults. Many hands make light work and allow for a richer experience for all involved.
