Fire Safety Message
A Red Flag Warning is issued for weather events which may result in extreme fire behavior that will occur within 24 hours. During these times, extreme caution is urged by all residents because a simple spark can cause a major wildfire.

In preparation for the fireworks next week, many homeowners may need to spend their weekend clearing high weeds from their properties to create defensible fire space. While this is the correct protocol, it is important to do it in the right way. Lawn mowers, weed-eaters, chain saws, grinders, welders, tractors, and trimmers can all spark a fire. Do your part, the right way, to keep your community fire safe. Check out Calfire's tips on safe equipment use and be sure during red flag warnings, like this weekend, to mow or weed-eat early in the morning (before 10 AM) when humidity is higher. Do not mow or weed-eat in the heat of the day or afternoons when humidity is low.
