JASON ABRAMOWSKI RECEIVES VOLUNTEER OF YEAR HONOR
Jason Abramowski stands out – plain and simple.

It’s true.

At 6-foot-8, the longtime Trinity Lutheran member is head-and-shoulders above everyone else.

It’s also safe to say that it’s hard to miss Jason Abramowski at Trinity Lutheran ChurchSchool.

The father of two boys (Noah and Evan) - and the husband to Julie - spends countless hours on Trinity’s campus mending, restoring, tinkering, maintaining, shoveling, salting, beautifying … you get the picture.

The truth is - Jason Abramowski is a blessing to Trinity Lutheran.

It’s also a fact that Jason Abramowski, pictured above, is the recipient of Trinity Lutheran’s Volunteer of the Year for 2019. Jason was honored on Sunday (April 7) during a cake reception.

“I’m very humbled to even be considered for the Volunteer of the Year,” Jason said. “There are so many others within the Trinity Lutheran Family who deserve this recognition. My hope is that they will be recognized for their time and talents that they have given over the many years of volunteer service to Trinity Lutheran.”

For Jason, volunteering began at an early age,

“Volunteering was a way to bond with other families and to be proud of what God has provided,” said Jason, who grew up attending Immanuel Lutheran School in Freeport, Ill. “Saturdays were not always just play days or a day off from school. It was a day to maintain, fix, repair and beautify God’s house and school.”

Since transferring his membership to Trinity Lutheran in 2000-2001, Jason has been involved in missions, athletics, Parent Teacher League, facilities and grounds, Vacation Bible School, future planning and school-related activities, including being a chaperone on field trips.

“Being involved gives me a sense of pride, knowing that I’m helping others and making sure things are running smoothly,” Jason said. “When I arrived at Trinity, I didn’t know where I would fit in – volunteering has made a big difference.”

Jason hopes his passion rubs off on others.

“It’s my hope that others would take a leap of faith and offer their talents by volunteering,” Jason said. “You never know where or how God may use you.”

It’s true – even if you stand out.
