June has brought sunshine and a championship to the Bailey & Wyant team! 

Congratulations to our Associate, Dan LeMasters who brought home first place in this weekend's 2018 Smoke on the Water Chili Cook Off!

The 20th Annual Smoke on the Water Chili Cookoff at Haddad Riverfront Park is a family friendly FestivAll event as well as a fundraiser for HospiceCare.  The cookoff is also on the circuit for the International Chili Society.

The event brought in 50 competitive cooks this year and our team showed up with their signature formulas for a great day that ended with a victory lap!

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC of Counsel, Abbie Dunn obtained summary judgment in a personal injury case involving a claim by a professed horse trainer who was hired on a temporary basis to work at a local horse barn.  Read more on our news page

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC Obtains Dismissal in Eastern Panhandle

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC continues to obtain successful results for its Clients in the Eastern Panhandle

Bailey & Wyant, PLLC Member David E. Schumacher and Associate Daniel T. LeMasters successfully obtained the dismissal of the Client University Healthcare Physicians, Inc. from a wrongful death / medical malpractice action filed against it in the Circuit Court of Berkeley County, West Virginia. After the Circuit Court granted the Client's Motion to Dismiss, Plaintiff appealed to the West Virginia Supreme Court. Recently, the West Virginia Supreme Court issued a Memorandum Decision affirming the Circuit Court of Berkeley County's Order granting Client University Healthcare Physicians, Inc.'s Motion to Dismiss and denial of Plaintiff's Rule 59(e) motions.
BridgeFest at the Bridge Road Shops
Bailey & Wyant, PLLC sponsored BridgeFest hosted by the Bridge Road Neighborhood Association. The fundraiser is a family-friendly community block party where families, friends and neighbors enjoy a summer evening with live music, delicious food by various Bridge Road vendors and have the opportunity to mingle with local business owners.

Harrison M. Cyrus

Harrison M. Cyrus is an Associate in Bailey & Wyant, PLLC's Charleston Office.  Harrison received his Juris Doctorate degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2015. In 2012, he graduated magna cum laude from Marshall University, in Huntington, West Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Political Science. While attending the West Virginia University College of Law, Harrison was a research assistant for Professor Alison Peck.
 
He also gained legal experience by clerking for the Honorable Justice Margaret Workman at the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. In the summer of 2014, he clerked for Bailey & Wyant in the Charleston office. Harrison received CALI Awards in Coal, Oil and Gas Law and Advanced Family Law during his time at law school. Harrison is originally from Prichard, WV and currently resides in St. Albans.
