June 28 - July 2
MTAC Convention 2019, Hyatt Regency Santa Clara

I wish to thank Ruby Cheung, Katherine Lee, Larisa Meller, Ruth Zhou, Karen Wolff, Grace Cheng, Ji An, Rita Chi, and Millie Chiem for stepping in to help me in this huge annual project we call Certificate of Merit. I am deeply grateful for their work and generosity of time. These teachers do more hours than their volunteer requirements, because they know how important the work is. I could not do this alone. I also want to thank Sr. Andre Marie Fujier for generosity in opening the Dominican Sisters Convent to support CM program.

I am also grateful to all studio site monitors who also are so generous to open their homes for testing. I know it is a big intrusion to their home, and I think I can say that we are all very grateful for their generosity. Sometime in late August, Grace and I would like to have a meeting regarding site monitor work, so that we can have all work done at the site with more accuracy and make sure the site monitors have a better knowledge regarding procedure. This can only improve accuracy in grading, and also help the evaluators do their work better.

I hope to see you all at Convention!

William DeVan in Concert

Saturday, April 13, 2019
1605 Bonanza St., Walnut Creek
7:00 pm

William DeVan's Saturday night concert will include all of Chopin's Op. 10 and Op. 25 Etudes.
This is a rare opportunity for students and teachers to hear an entire concert of all the Chopin Etudes in Op. 10 and Op. 25. Chopin's etudes represent the high watermark of technical innovation on the piano. William DeVan will thrill his audience with his sense of gentle elegance combined with heroic virtuosity and an endearing touch of recklessness.
