Good Morning

It's been a great month at Middletown Christian Church and it's about to get
even better. Former Louisville Men's Head Basketball coach David Padgett is going to speak at our 9:50 and 11:10 a.m. services on Sunday.

David is going to wrap up our
Hope Rising sermon series by talking about Adversity. It's a subject matter he has become very familiar with in the last year. He is going to share how he managed himself during a tough year professionally and personally.

There is probably no more relevant topic that touches so many lives than adversity. We all experience hardship in different degrees and at different times. Some people are enduring a tough season at this moment. For some people adversity can tear down their faith. For other people it builds their faith. It's a matter of choice. We may not always get to choose what happens to us, but we always get to choose how we respond to it.

I love what John Wooden said about adversity:  "Let's face it, we're all imperfect and we're going to fall short on occasion. But we must learn from failure and that will enable us to avoid repeating our mistakes. Through adversity, we learn, grow stronger, and become better people." Gosh, that is so true!

I will be preaching on adversity at the 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. services on Sunday. The title for the weekend is When Adversity Makes Faith Difficult. Please use your social media to share the good news about this special weekend.

See You Sunday,

David
