In a move widely anticipated after the lack of structural "bail reform" in the 2014 legislative session, Governor Martin O'Malley has created the Governor's Commission to Reform Maryland's Pretrial System.  

The purpose of the Commission is to bring together experts and interested parties to comprehensively examine the State's pretrial system and to provide recommendations for reform. (Read more)

Chesapeake Employers to Give $100,000 to Non-profits in Maryland   

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding in 1914, Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Co., the workers' compensation insurer formerly known as IWIF, and a MACo Gold Partner, is inviting nonprofit human service organizations across Maryland to apply for its "Bridge to the Future" grant program.

Grants will be awarded to qualifying nonprofits to help support their efforts to develop the employability of the clients they serve. (Read more
