Children and Adults
Our Sunday School classes for children and for adults are from 10:30-11:10 am on Sunday mornings. If you have little ones who aren't old enough for Sunday School yet, the nursery is open during this time so that you can attend classes.

Tea and Talk Bible Study 
Please join us in the Parish Hall on Wednesdays from 11:00 am-noon for our weekly Bible study, during which we sample some teas from my collection and study the Scripture lessons for the coming Sunday. All are welcome! There's no homework, and you'll have some good background information on the text when you hear the Sunday sermon. ~ Charlie+

Wednesday Night Bible Study
If you can't make it for Tea and Talk, please join us in the Parish Hall on Wednesday nights from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm for Bible study. All levels of Biblical literacy are welcome and no preparation is necessary! ~ Charlie+

Contemplative Prayer Group
Thursdays in the church from 5:30pm-6:30pm. This group begins with 5-10 minutes of discussion and education, followed by silence and contemplative prayer practice. ~ Charlie+

Donating Altar Flowers
Each Sunday, the flowers behind the altar are given to the glory of God, and in memory of the dead, or in thanksgiving for living loved ones, for answered prayers, or for life events like births, graduations, weddings, and anniversaries. The suggested donation is $50. If you're wondering what happens to the flowers, they don't go to waste! After the Sunday evening service, they are divided into smaller bouquets and taken to parishioners, and to non-parishioners in local nursing homes. You can donate altar flowers on the website:
Sunday School for Children and Adults

Sunday School classes for children and for adults meet at 10:30 am. This Sunday, the Adults Sunday School class will continue on our journey with Moses and the people of Israel on their journey to the Promised Land. We'll be finishing up the Moses cycle of stories before the program year ends on May 27th!

 
Mother's Day Diaper Collection
Mother's Day is this Sunday, and for the past several years, we've marked the occasion with a diaper drive for Twin Lakes Food Bank and the Diaper Bank at the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership. This year, in addition to diapers, we'll be collecting tampons, pads, and other sanitary items - items mothers need but may not be able to afford, especially if they are homeless or living paycheck to paycheck while supporting a family. Tampons are one of the top requests women have when they are seeking assistance. Bring your donations with you to church this Sunday!

Children's Choir on Summer Break
Our Children's Choir is on summer break, so no more rehearsals until August. Our other choirs will be extending their seasons past the normal date when our summer break begins (the end of the program year, Trinity Sunday - May 27 th this year), and will be singing right up until the day Walter leaves, June 17 th .

Royal Wedding Watch Party
On Saturday, May 19th, HRH Prince Henry of Wales will wed Miss Meghan Markle in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, and the whole world will be tuning in to see the beautiful Prayer Book liturgy in action. If you're not keen on waking early to watch the proceedings at 5am, Trinity Folsom is hosting a royal wedding watch party at 4pm (tea time) in the Parish Hall. If you would like to bring a light snack to share, your contribution to the festivities would be most welcome. Fr. Charlie will be making a few pots of tea, and we have plenty of china to make sure everyone gets a proper cup. Huzzah!
 
Gardeners Needed at Twin Lakes Food Bank
Our partners over at Twin Lakes Food Bank run a community garden with 48 raised beds and several fruit trees, providing fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables to those in need. On May 12th and June 9th, from 9am until noon, TLFB will be doing some maintenance work on the community garden - planting, harvesting, weeding, repairing raised beds and deer netting - and need our help. Invite a fellow parishioner to work with you and sign up at Twin Lakes Food Bank  and if you have any questions, talk to Fr. Charlie [email protected] .
 
Women's Self-Defense Class
On Saturday, May 19th, from 10am-1pm, Jorim will be attending a free women's self-defense seminar in Rancho Cordova and is inviting any of the women of the parish, ages 9 and up, to join her. If you've been interested in attending one of these for yourself or your daughter, but haven't had anyone to go with, this is a great opportunity for you. The seminar is led by a group of women from the Warrior Forged Project, and you can read more about them here: http://warriorforgedproject.com/. There will be some serious topics discussed, so the facilitators advise that children under the age of 9 not attend. For more info on the seminar, go to their website, then click "Classes," then "Schedule," then scroll down to May 19th and click the "WSDS Rancho Cordova" link for a description of the seminar, and the link to sign up. The seminar is free, but you do need to register in advance. And let Jorim know you are coming so that she can look for you - her e-mail is [email protected].
 
Youth Overnight
Our youth minister Jorim will be leaving us at the end of June, and as part of her leave-taking, she's scheduling a youth overnight at Trinity Folsom on Saturday, June 2nd, to Sunday, June 3rd. It starts at 5:30pm on Saturday, and we'll have dinner, games, snacks, movies, and breakfast on Sunday morning, and then kids can be picked up after the 9am service. All youth in 6th-12th grades are invited to attend. To find out what all you need to bring, and to RSVP, e-mail Jorim at [email protected].   
 
Vacation Bible School
As you begin to plan out your summer, don't forget Vacation Bible School! This summer we're going to have one full week of programming, July 9-13. The theme will be "Holy Me, Holy Community" and will be designed to help kids try on different ways of moving closer to God, through interactive storytelling, healthy eating, prayer, games, and messy art experiences! Though VBS is geared towards grades K-3rd, all are welcome, and we have volunteer opportunities for adults, older children, and youth. Mark your calendars, stay tuned, and please email Fr. Summer Camp!
It's time to start thinking about summer camp opportunities for the children and youth of our parish. Many of our parish youth attend Camp Galilee on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe, owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. There are also two Episcopal camps in Sonoma County, owned and operated by the Episcopal Diocese of California: Bishop's Ranch in Healdsburg, and St. Dorothy's Rest in Camp Meeker, between Occidental and Monte Rio. Our own Diocese of Northern California has programs for youth like the Pathways summer pilgrimage program. If you're interested in any of these opportunities, talk to the clergy or Jorim, our youth minister. Since our diocese doesn't operate a summer camp facility, the diocese offers $200 scholarships for children and youth to attend any of the camps and programs mentioned above; the parish can provide additional scholarship funds if needed. Since most of our campers choose Camp Galilee, we've put some informational literature about it in the Parish Hall, or you can check out their website, www.galileetahoe.org. Camp Galilee is also having an open house on April 29th, if you want to go up there and check it out (RSVP on the Galilee website); let Father Todd know you're going, and he'll tell Stuart, the camp director and a good friend of Trinity Folsom, to look out for you!
   
Confirmation: Sunday, September 16th
The Right Reverend Barry Beisner, the bishop of the Diocese of Northern California, is scheduled to make his final official visitation to Trinity Folsom (he's retiring in 2019) on Sunday, September 16th. We will be offering the sacrament of Confirmation and receiving people into The Episcopal Church at the morning services. While we usually have a large group of youth to be confirmed, in recent years, we've also had a significant group of adults. If you were baptized as an infant or child, but never confirmed, it's never too late! For those who were confirmed as Roman Catholics, Lutherans, or in the Orthodox churches, we don't re-confirm you, but you can be officially received into The Episcopal Church with the confirmands.
