Leadership Training Series

Last year, OCATO partnered with  OSU's John Glenn College of Public Affairs to pilot a leadership training series for Ohio's Community Action Network. Because we received such great feedback from participants, we are bringing it back for 2018! The series, which is suitable for aspiring, emerging, and experienced Community Action leaders, will be tentatively held once per month June through October in the Columbus area. Topics include Understanding Yourself and Others, Incorporating Change, Building Capacity, Leading Performance, and Tying it All Together ...  Read more

Doug Stanley announces retirement after 38 years of service to Community Action

OACAA extends sincere thanks to Doug Stanley for his years of service and commitment to Community Action. 

After 38 years with HAPCAP, Doug Stanley will be retiring at the beginning of June. Our board has selected HAPCAP's Community Services Director Kelly Hatas as his replacement.

Doug began his work with us in 1980 as the director for Community Services. As the years went on, he took on Weatherization, Community Development Block Grant Funding and was involved with developing the Southeast Ohio Foodbank...  Read more

In recognition of the efforts of the Community Action Commission of Fayette County, the Fayette County Commissioners signed a proclamation on Monday designating May 2018 as Community Action Month.

During the regular Monday meeting, Tony Anderson, Jack DeWeese and Dan Dean gathered to celebrate CAC. In the signed proclamation, the commissioners acknowledge the work that Community Action does for people both in and out of Fayette County . .. Read more
