Join us at the 20th annual North Shore Writers Festival! Friday evening, author Grant Lawrence will host the ever-popular annual literary trivia contest, and on Saturday you'll meet talented Canadian authors, listen to their inspiring stories, and explore their diverse works of literature.

Shred-it Fundraiser
Saturday, June 1, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Queen Mary School, 230 Keith Road West.
Save the date! Our shredding fundraiser is back. Securely shred confidential files and information, protect against identity theft, and help raise money for the library! Shredding will be by donation. Proceeds will support the Library's special collections and programs.
Tax receipts are available for donations of $25 or more.

NVCL Seed Library
Growing season is here again! Our burgeoning seed library has nearly 1000 packets of flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables, including early starters like cauliflower, leeks, onions, peppers, pumpkins and tomatoes. We lend seeds to the public, free of charge, with an aim to create greener spaces, encourage people to grow their own food, and facilitate community learning.

Foreign Credential Recognition Process in Canada

If you are an immigrant with a degree or a license obtained from your home country, you don't want to miss this workshop. Participants will learn about the steps for foreign credential recognition in Canada, and the financial support that is available to them in their credentialing process.

English Conversation Club

In this program, participants will meet weekly to practice their English with a facilitator and community volunteers. New topics will be introduced in each session, creating a very enthusiastic and engaging setting. The program is suitable for anyone with intermediate English skills (LINC level 4-6). Parenting Teens Support Group for Mandarin-Speaking Families

In this monthly session, Mandarin-speaking parents will learn about a variety of topics, including communicating with pre-teenage and teenage children, Internet addiction and games, social media safety, dating and bullying.

Postures and Prompts
Friday, April 26, 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Andrea Winterbottom, a certified Hatha yoga teacher and Federation of BC Writers member, will lead you through a series of pranayama (breathing exercises) and asanas (yoga postures) to open pathways to allow creativity to flow. Awaken your muse and take joy in writing to prompts that will prompt writing from within your core. Please bring your own yoga mat, pen and paper.

The Library offers several volunteering opportunities for teens and tweens. Join our Teen Advisory Council, Tween Advisory Group, or the Teen Art and Promotion Group. Join the Read Along program, or help with library events!
