Dakota County Regional Chamber Presents “Better Transit for Dakota County and Its Employers”   In response to Dakota County businesses' need for better transit service to serve employees and customers, the DCR Chamber along with East Metro Strong, presented at the April 5 Public Affairs Breakfast Series, their plans to research and identify countywide opportunities for transit in Dakota County as well as the benefits of expanded transit.  The Transit Network Analysis will include: Recommendations for appropriate transit service types A strategy for network connectivity to tie these services together A statement of benefits for Dakota County and employers located in the county   Christof Speiler with Huitt-Zollars, and Will Schroeer with East Metro Strong, presented to over 50 businesses, community partners, and transit professionals. The research phase of this will start sometime mid summer.

Round Table Discussion with Minnesota House Representative Laurie Halverson (51B)   The DCR Chamber is holding a round table discussion with Representative Laurie Halverson (51B) on HF 5 on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Rasmussen College (3500 Federal Drive, Room 201, Eagan, MN 55122).   This proposal creates an expansive state-wide mandate on employers and employees—a new state insurance program financed through a joint employer/employee payroll tax—in order to establish a partial wage replacement benefit for the purposes of medical AND family leave. This proposed legislation places a new payroll tax on every employer to create a broad new state-run insurance program.   We invite you to attend this discussion and provide input on how this will impact your business and employees and get the updates from Representative Halverson. Please contact Maureen Scallen Failor for more information.   Please RSVP by Friday, April 12, 2019 to:  Mscallenfailor@dcrchamber.com  or 651-288-9201.
