Christ Covenant School is a community that loves, educates, and equips our students to transform the world for Jesus Christ.

The Lord will keep you from all harm- he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

We have finished the course for the year, and we all are moving to the next season of life.  As we turn the corner, I encourage us all to keep our eyes focused on the eternals which really matter most in life.

Enjoy your family this summer.  Take them to the park, the pool, the beach.  Pack a picnic and stay up late watching movies some nights knowing you will not have to navigate a crowded carline at 7:30 in the morning.  Family, I am learning, is an ever-changing dynamic of relationships that mature around us literally over-night.  Make them a priority so that we do not miss the most valuable and moldable times in our children's lives.

Build your church and ministry.  Something we encourage at our school is active participation in the local church. We have a total of over 45 different church congregations and denominations that come together under our school roof.  We spend our weekdays here together, but imagine the impact of 400 student and families filtering out in the community to build the mission and great commission of our local churches who are reaching our city and the world.  The mission of Christ Covenant School, "to transform the world for Christ," ought to be at its highest impact during these summer months where outreach occurs.

Rebuild your faith and devotion.  So often for us, summer brings a desire to "vacate" as a vacation and leave our spiritual life unattended.  Instead of a summer vacation, consider having a summer holiday or "holy day" where we run towards the Lord and his plans for our lives rather than vacating away from them. Time with God and His word is eternal, and times of true refreshing come from His presence rather than from our time shares.

Finally, refocus on heavenly matters.  Whenever we are tempted to get distracted with buildings, buses, curriculum, classrooms, desks, fields, flagpoles, or parking lots, I like to remember that only our eternal souls and the investments we have made in heaven will remain.  Spend some time storing up in heaven; consider how to make an impact there; and rest assured that God will preserve our treasures where no one can steal or destroy them.
