Orchestra

Orchestra Performs at a Very Special Event
On Saturday, March 30 we had the privilege of performing for the 46th Annual Empowerment Gala of the Ms. Wheelchair Florida, Inc. at the Rosen Centre Hotel.

What an inspiring and heartfelt night in honor of some incredible women. They truly show that life does not limit us by our abilities, but rather challenges us to use the talents we have to exceed all expectations!

A very special thank you to Jamie Santillo for inviting us to perform.

Orchestra Guest Clinician: Dr. Laura Joella, FAU
On Friday, March 29 Orchestra students got the opportunity to work in a masterclass clinic with visiting professor, Dr. Laura Joella from Florida Atlantic University. Students were able not only to perform and work with her, but ask questions and gain insight on college and advice on continuing music beyond high school.

You may wear a cap and gown from a past graduate, but you must purchase this year's pieces directly from them when they are here in May. The separate pieces are not available to purchase online.

Note: If you purchase online, you will put in your own address, but the cap and gown part will be delivered to the school in May. More info. to come on how and when to pick that up.

*** IMPORTANT CHANGE ***

We will NOT be wearing the silver hood/stole as a whole class this year. This will be reserved for members of honor societies and they will be purchased through the honor society sponsor. Monday's Motivational Moment!

Don't Quit - Keep Going
By Edgar A. Guest. (1921)

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and debts are high,
And you want to smile but have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out,
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You might succeed with another blow.

Often the struggler has given up,
When he might captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit!
