Today the US observes
Veteran's Day, or, more traditionally, Remembrance Day or Armistice Day; the celebration of the end of the war to end all wars. Sigh...
Adobe released new versions of
Premiere Pro and the rest of its Creative Cloud applications last week. So, this week, my lead story is a "First Look" at one of the centerpiece features in Premiere:
Auto-Reframe.
Here's the link.
First, though, the news.
ftrack announced that it has acquired
Cospective. ftrack provides a project management, production tracking and media review platform, while Cospective created a synchronized remote review tool. I was intrigued at the story behind the news, so I emailed ftrack
CEO Fredrik Limsater to learn more.

Earlier this week, I was looking for material to write for
The Inside Tips. As I was exploring
Premiere I re-discovered the
Project Manager. What's cool about the Project Manager is that you can use it for archiving, or consolidating files for sharing, or transcoding files into a more efficient codec for editing. This week, my third article illustrates how to use the Project Manager in Premiere. (And, for all you Final Cut editors, no, I don't know why Apple doesn't create something similar and, yes, I think it would be very useful.)

Thinking of
The Inside Tips, our newest subject, "
Codecs & Media," went live last week. And, starting next week, the
Apple Motion tips go live on Thursday, Nov. 21.
Visual Effects will start Dec. 4. Sign-up now - the entire service is free - so don't miss a single tip. I'm having great fun researching cool, fun stuff.

As some of us wait for the new Mac Pro and HDR display - and the rest of us wait for the holidays - things are winding down a bit. Still, there is more news coming, which I'll share with you next week. In the meantime,
edit well.
