Our Tuesday Evening Life Group will start up again on Tuesday April 30th .
We'll meet for seven weeks,  with the last meeting of the quarter being Tuesday
June 11th .  We meet from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the  Annex basement.

This quarter we will be discussing Part 1 of Richard Rohr's latest book,  The Universal Christ: How a  Forgotten Reality Can Change Everything We See, Hope For, and Believe, available at Amazon and
elsewhere.  We will also continue our focus on Centering Prayer. For more information on Centering Prayer, come  join us for an evening, or see Centering Prayer.

Please give us a try. You can easily join in the conversation without the book, even if you can only attend  once or occasionally.

Home Sharing Program Being Explored

Faith Partners for Housing is in discussions with   Metro HomeShare to explore the   possibility of  expanding the Portland home   sharing program into Clark County.

Portland Metro HomeShare has a long and   respected history of helping home owners   and renters who  are struggling with high   rents to help one another. The home   owner can receive financial help to   cover  taxes or mortgage payments while a   person(s) struggling with increasing rents   can lower his/her rental  payments and   have a safe place to live. The homeowner   and potential renter decide if they are
compatible and can live together and   background checks are done to insure   everyone's safety. In  addition, the parties   draw up their own personalized agreement   with assistance from Metro HomeShare
staff. Sometimes these agreements   exchange services, such as gardening or   transportation to the  doctor, for rent.

After a match is made, Metro HomeShare   conducts regular check-ins to ensure   everyone is satisfied  with their living   arrangement.

The biggest need for the program is to find   Home Providers. If the program grows   into Clark County,  you might consider   becoming a Home Provider if you are cost-   burdened by increased taxes or cost   of  living and would be open to the idea of   sharing your home with someone who is   compatible. Also,  empty nesters living   alone could benefit from companionship   or  having someone nearby to complete  day-
to-day tasks such as yard work, grocery
shopping or transportation to doctor   appointments.
