Not Here Ministry
Not Here Ministry continues to go strong through these hot and humid summer months. Thanks to our faithful volunteers continuing to dedicate each week to picking up food donations, meal preparation, sorting clothing, serving delicious food and just being a presence to neighbors in need of nourishment and fellowship.
Some of our ongoing needs are men and women’s clothing and shoes. Socks and under garments are always a needed item, as well as toiletries and insect repellent. There is a labeled “NOT HERE” area in the foyer of the church to accept donations.

There are numerous ways to physically participate in this rewarding ministry. Thursday is not our only day designated to Not Here. It actually takes a number of days and ways to make our Thursdays happen. To learn more about Not Here, visit our website. If you would like to get involved, please contact Kirk & Krista Sipe at ksipe1818@gmail.com.
Small Groups
The UMW Logos
The UMW Logos next meeting is Tuesday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. in the Youth Lounge. Lynn and Perry Brittain will be our guest speakers. They will be talking to us about Multiple Sclerosis. Lynn was diagnosed with MS in 2012. She will be taking part in a 60 mile bike ride in the early fall to help raise funds to free the world of this crippling disease. Lynn and Perry were active members of HUMC for many years. We welcome anyone who would like to come hear them share about their journey since Lynn’s diagnosis.
Disciple Bible Study
Disciple Bible Study is transformative. The 34 week study is incredibly effective in shaping lives through interaction with the Word of God and each other. I hope to have enough people to sign up for this study so that we have two classes, on Sunday afternoons from 5:00-7:00 p.m., and on Wednesday evening. We will meet on August 18 at 5:00 p.m. to form classes. This will be an information session designed to give you the information you need to make this deep commitment. Please email Pastor Paul at  pthompson@wnccumc.net  to express your interest in learning more.

Required Materials: Disciple I Study Manual
