Each Wednesday one of our pastors will be doing a Fireside Devotional that is fitting for you and your family during this season. Watch for a new devotional every Wednesday evening on our social media platforms or at ChristCovenant.org/FiresideDevotionals.

Pastor Mike Miller brought us a great word of encouragement on how we can pray for our supported workers.
Engage in Serving our Community
Donation Drop Off
Thank you to everyone who has dropped off donations! You helped fill up the truck that is pictured to the left.

Christ Covenant has become part of a coalition to help our community during this time of crisis, especially to provide food for those in need and Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) for first responders. We are partnering with the Charlotte Responds Coalition, who reports directly to the Char-Meck Emergency Management System. If you are able, would you be willing to bring non-perishable food donations or PPEs over the next few weeks? Donations can be dropped off outside the North Lobby from Monday – Friday between 9:00am – 4:00pm. No one will be there; just drop off your donations on the table you will see designated for the food collection. Each week we will collect and deliver food to a distribution center and the PPEs to a collection center. This is in compliance with the regulations for our Stay at Home Proclamation, which states we can continue to care for others as needed.Food donations must be pre-packaged and not in glass jars. They specifically need proteins, so suggestions include: canned meats, beans, potato flakes, canned vegetables or fruit, oatmeal packets, granola bars, etc. Nothing fresh or frozen may be accepted. Personal Protection items needed are: N95 filter masks, surgical masks, splash suits/coveralls, safety glasses, face shields, goggles, EMS/medical gowns, medical gloves, surface disinfectant, and sanitizing wipes.

If you have any questions contact Karen Chambers at kchambers@christcovenant.org. We will keep you posted if there are other ways we can be serving those hurting in our community.
Serving One Another in the Community
We have a new service opportunity! You are invited to join us on Thursday mornings from 9:00a – 12:00p to pack boxes of food for Second Harvest Food Bank that goes directly to CMS schools for their feeding program during the virus. It is safe, fun, and easy! You must be 18 or older to serve. If you are interested, contact Karen Chambers at kchambers@christcovenant.org for more information.
Serving One Another in the Church
We know that there are many in our church family who for various reasons may be struggling to get to the grocery store, pick up medication, etc. Christ Covenant has set up a temporary team of volunteers to meet these needs during this season. Please email Ginni Larkins at glarkins@christcovenant.org, or get in touch with your pastor to request assistance with any needs you may have. We love you and want to serve you any way we can!
Equipping you in Prayer
Our Monthly Day of Prayer is Tuesday, April 21
Our Monthly Day of Prayer is on Tuesday, April 21. While we will not be gathering together in person for prayer, we can take time throughout the day to pray for one another, for our church, for our state, and for our country.

You can participate in the Monthly Day of Prayer from your home! The day is divided into 30-minute segments for individuals to sign up and pray for missionaries and needs of the congregation. You can sign up at ChristCovenant.org/members/prayer to help us cover the day fully in prayer.

You can also take this time to call a friend to pray with them over the phone. You can send a text or email letting them know you paused in your day to pray for them. We also have several prayer guides available for you to use. These can be found at ChristCovenant.org./prayer.

Lastly, we hope you will take time to submit your confidential prayer requests either online at ChristCovenant.org/members/prayer or by email at prayer@christcovenant.org. Your pastors and staff are continually praying for you!
Weekly Prayer Guide
While we are not able to gather together in person, we can pray together. Each week we will equip you with a new prayer guide with daily prompts for us to lift up to the Lord together. You can find them in the Courier, the eCourier, and at ChristCovenant. org/Prayer. Additional prayer resources and guides can also be found at ChristCovenant.org/Prayer.
Monday - Our families & neighbors - Pray for our members and neighbors who are separated from loved ones in the hospital or in extended care facilities. Pray for God to use virtual visits to bridge distances and enrich communication. Pray that God will comfort the grieving.

Tuesday – Our international ministry partners - Nisin & Joanna M, Restricted Area
Nisin provides leadership for a student ministry in their area. Students come from all over the region and then return to their home countries with the gospel. Pray that in the midst of a busy season that their team would prioritize time in God’s Word, personally and with family. Pray that the training he is giving to the leaders would enable them to train their students in sound doctrine. Pray for them to know how to best host several different people over the next months and how to show the love of Jesus to them.

Wednesday –Healthcare workers - Pray for the many believers among our healthcare workers who are uniquely positioned to minister to lonely patients who cannot have their families with them. Pray that God will use them to comfort the fearful and bring good news to those who have no hope.

Thursday – Our leaders in local, state and national government positions - Pray for the 50 Governors in the United States who are at the same time dealing with identical challenges, and challenges that are unique to their own states. Pray for wisdom, godly priorities, and trustworthy leadership through the spring and summer.

Friday – The persecuted church & unreached people group
Persecuted church |The Christians in Uganda’s Karamoja region face the loss of their crops because of the invasion of locusts at planting time. Pray that God will overcome the shortages in maize, beans, millet, and sorghum crops that are basic in the Ugandan diet.

Unreached people group - The Wolof in Senegal have a population of 6,018,000 with only 0.01% known Christians. Pray that their traditional Muslim culture will soften, creating open doors for the gospel to be preached among them. Pray for the small number of Wolof believers to have the courage to share the love of Christ with their own people and be strong through persecution.

Saturday – Our local ministry partners
Local Presbytery | Uptown Church, Charlotte, NC – Dave Kulp, Interim Pastor
Local Ministry Partner | Please pray for the Mecklenburg County Jail Ministry and for Metanoia Ministry - Right now, no visitors are allowed, so please pray for the Spirit of the Lord to work in the hearts of inmates and for wisdom for those who lead jail ministries to know how to stay connected and engaged.

Sunday – Our pastors & staff - Pray for our pastors and staff as they work from their homes, and like so many of us, want to spend quality time with spouses and children and concentrate on work responsibilities. Pray for God to strengthen families, increase understanding of home and work responsibilities and expand the capacity to love one another.
