HELP IS NEEDED FOR THIS ANNUAL SEPTEMBER EVENT.
Are you a new parent to St. Rose?
Please consider getting compliant with Diocese Volunteer requirements as soon as possible. At St. Rose we do our best to provide a safe campus for all. The Santa Rosa Diocese requires that all who wish to volunteer for any school event must comply with completing a background check, registering on the Diocese website, and completing the required on-line courses. It can take several weeks for this process to be complete. Don't wait until the week of an event to get started.
A Note from Mrs. Ryan
Dear Parents,

It is so hard to believe that there are only four weeks left before students begin their summer vacation.  Although there is still much to be accomplished, we are all looking forward to a more typical school year in 2018-19.

We have some wonderful things to look forward to: the conclusion of construction, no more "temporary learning spaces", a new reading series for our Kindergarten through 5 th graders, increased use of technology in the junior high and air conditioning in all classrooms.

Soon, we will be saying farewell to our third grade teacher, Suzanne Dooling. After the fire Suzanne decided she wanted to be closer to family, so she is relocating to Louisville, Kentucky. She already has a new position teaching third grade at St. Agnes School there. Our loss is certainly their gain. We have appreciated Suzanne for her reflective teaching and her wonderful creativity. Under her direction, the third graders were known for their delightful plays and presentations. Suzanne generously shared her deep faith with her students and many of the primary students enjoyed taking her lunch time drawing classes. She will be deeply missed.

The incoming third graders will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher on Move-up Day. Miss Caroline Hickey is very excited to join our staff. She received her BA degree from Sonoma State University and earned her teaching credential from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont. She taught Kindergarten for four years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Daly City before moving to Santa Rosa last summer to be near her fiancĂ©.  She is currently working in a variety of capacities at Jack London School. Like Suzanne, Caroline is also known for her creativity and engaging lessons.

I hope you will be able to join us for Move-Up Day on June 7 th at 9:00 AM. Along with our traditional Move-Up Day activities, there will be a short photo presentation of the crazy year we have been through and the many blessings we have received. Bishop Vasa will also be presenting our school community with his Excellence In Education Award.

Sincerely,
Kathy Ryan
School Principal
LOOKING FOR THOSE LAST FEW SERVICE HOURS THIS YEAR?
PENNY WAR
Student Council sponsored classroom 'PENNY WAR' begins NEXT WEEK!
All classes will participate in this student council fundraiser in which the goal is to collect as many pennies as possible. The class which brings in the MOST money total in pennies will win a fabulous prize. There is a twist though....classes can sabotage other classes by donating CASH - PAPER BILLS, or silver coins (dimes, nickles, quarters) to other class coin buckets. Any paper bills or silver coins collected, that value will be deducted from their overall PENNY count!
Clear as mud!  See here for rules.
