Provider Appreciation Day 2018

The second Sunday in May has long been recognized as the day to honor mothers and their commitment to children. The Friday before Mother's Day is the day we remember YOU!  Today marks the special day where we recognize teachers, school-age program staff, family child care homes, child care center directors and staff, and all those who work with children and are responsible for their education and care.  It is estimated that nearly 11 million children under the age of 5 are cared for by 2.8 million child care providers in the United States.   Florida is home to approximately 1.4 million children younger than 5, with more than 14,500 child care providers in the state!  Governor Rick Scott has officially proclaimed this day, May 11, 2018, as Provider Appreciation Day.  Click Here for a copy of the proclamation.

So on this day, the Coalition would like to personally thank each and every one of our child care providers for making a commitment to serve our community.  Thank you for investing in our children on a daily basis, ensuring they are safe and well cared for.

Have a wonderful rest of your school year, and thank you for all you do for the children and families of Pinellas County!
