Extension for Marion County

Most recently, Mayor Hogsett has extended Marion County's stay at home order through May 15. Governor Holcomb announced his plan to slowly reopen the state last week, in a staged approach with the goal of reopening completely by July 4, depending on COVID-19 trends.  More here.

Important IndyGo Updates
IndyGo and Uber have teamed up to provide significantly discounted rides through Uber for essential workers from April 23 through the end of May. Learn more about eligibility and participation here.
Purple Line updates: Last month, the Dept. of Public Works approved the Purple Line ordinance to go to the City-County Council in May to move forward with executing FTA grant funding. Read more about the Purple Line.
Fare collection will resume on all IndyGo buses starting May 4. Plexiglass shields have been installed on buses to protect Operators and riders when interacting at the fare box. More details and IndyGo updates here.
Kheprw Institute: Giving Tuesday Now
The Kheprw Institute is matching up to $15,000 in donations made to their mutual-aid funds starting next Tuesday, May 5 through May 11. This campaign supports two funds, described below. Learn more.
The Community Now Fund provides $500 grants to Indianapolis families and individuals who need emergency relief in paying a utility bill, rent or mortgage. The LEAD Support Fund provides $500 grants to support local entrepreneurs and artists.
BR Farmers Market Open
The Broad Ripple Farmers Market opened last Saturday, May 2 at their new location, 6179 North Rural Avenue (the overflow lot behind Glendale Town Center). The new space is better suited for meeting social distancing requirements. View this summer's vendor list here.
For an easy market experience, make sure to pre-order your items before heading to the market. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon, but the first half hour is reserved for senior and high-risk customers. All others must wait until 8:30 a.m. to enter.
Employment/Unemployment & Business Resources
TOMORROW: LISC Indianapolis is launching the Indianapolis Small Business Recovery Grant for Minority, Immigrant and Women-owned Businesses! These $5,000 grants are available for minority, immigrant, or women-owned businesses with 1-10 employees. Applications are open Tuesday, May 6 through Saturday, May 9 or until they reach 1,000 applicants. Learn more about eligibility and flag the application page so you can apply as soon as it opens.
LISC Indianapolis is also matching microloans through the Kiva platform to help borrowers meet their loan goal faster. Several small businesses in Indy have already successfully applied to this program. Start your Kiva application today. For eligibility on the LISC match, contact Geoffrey Jones at [email protected].
The Restaurant Workers' Community Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund has raised money to help restaurant workers who are struggling. The average grant size is around $2,000. Learn more and apply.
Similarly, the One Fair Wage Emergency Fund has cash assistance for restaurant workers, car service drivers, delivery workers and more.
The Bartender Emergency Assistance Program has grant application information for those that qualify for amounts between $150-$500. Learn more.
For food and beverage service employees with children, Children of Restaurant Employees (CORE Gives), has resources available for families that have been medically diagnosed with COVID-19. Apply here.
The Indy Chamber Rapid Response Hub continues to provide answers to many of your questions and links to key resources. There is an updated list of all SBA loans available now. Some SBA loans are forgivable if used for Payroll, rent, utilities, debt, and more. Learn more from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Supporting Arts and Culture
 
The Indy Arts & Culture COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund was created for individuals working in the arts sector and impacted by the current public health crisis. This fund will provide rapid response $500 grants to help bridge the severe lost wages that make many in our creative community vulnerable. Learn more and apply.

The Halo App is a private, peer lending community that connects Backers and Borrowers for small-dollar loans up to $1,000. Many of these loans have flexible repayment options to fit your budget. Learn more.

Kheprw Institute's Local Entrepreneur & Artist Direct Support Fund is crowdfunded by local supporters. Each week, they distribute a $500 grant to a different local artist or entrepreneur through a lottery. Make a contribution to support the effort or apply for a grant today.
SAVI Indiana COVID-19 Data Hub 

SAVI has created an information hub with maps, data, and dashboards to help practitioners and policy makers during the pandemic. You can view things like Indiana cases, testing levels, and death along with a county map showing the locations; neighborhood-level estimates of those areas at a higher risk; a neighborhood risk map and more.
