"Fallen leaves lying on the grass in the November sun bring more happiness than the daffodils."
Cyril Connolly
Greetings!
As November lays out before us, full of change and promise and days focused on being thankful, it brings the opportunity to practice gratitude around every corner. Are you grateful for the ocean view at your doorstep down the shore? Show your thanks by volunteering at Earth Keepers at Island Beach State Park. Grateful for food on the table and friends and family to share it? Offer a meal and conversation at Hunger Helpers in Atlantic City. Lucky enough to remember the childhood joy of receiving gifts? Sign up today to answer a child's wish through Frosty's Friends. And if you're thankful for too many things to count, jump into any of the 300+ November volunteer opportunities waiting for you. Whatever you're grateful for, know that others are grateful for you, like your friends at Jersey Cares!
Bring Magic to
New Jersey's Kids!
At the end of each year, Jersey Cares receives thousands of letters from children in New Jersey who may not normally receive gifts while others celebrate. The need for gifts is overwhelming every year, so this year we have increased our goal in the hope of providing 5,000 kids with some holiday magic. That's twice as many kids as we reached four years ago, so we really need your help!
At Marketplace in Mercer County, you’ll have the chance to advance this life-changing organization's efforts to get 2.7 million pounds of food to people in need each year. Volunteers are needed to sort and assemble food orders, bag fruits and vegetables, and much more to guarantee that as many people as possible have food. Click here to learn more and sign up to start making a difference today!
Come join us to alleviate hunger at Marketplace in East Brunswick. We need a leader to coordinate this project bringing food and clothing to a large number of New Jersey families, so if you're looking to make a difference in a big way, let us know you might be interested.

Do You Have Workforce Skills
to Share?
The Jersey Cares Youth Workforce Development Fellowship, designed for low-to-moderate-income youth, addresses the disconnect between young adults, workforce skills, and employment opportunities. Adrienne Petrino is a longtime Jersey Cares volunteer who donates her time as a workshop facilitator, providing our Fellows with a solid understanding of emotional intelligence.
