Congress Appropriates $25 Million for Mid-Town Beach Nourishment
The Town of Palm Beach is excited to announce that our flagship public beach, Mid-Town, has been included within the U.S. Congress Bipartisan Act of 2018 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Long Term Disaster Recovery Investment Plan. This appropriation of 25 million dollars marks the first time that U.S. Congress has appropriated funding for this federal project.

It has taken a pro-active approach to the issues affecting island businesses with an online survey, which the organization has sent to roughly 4,000 email addresses. The survey contains 18 multiple-choice questions about the local business community as well as 10 questions seeking demographic information.

Beach Cleanup Group: Medical Waste on Palm Beach Shore Getting Worse
Blood vials, syringes, IV pouches, hypodermic needles and even diabetic lancets are washing up on town beaches. It's always been a problem but lately the medical refuse is more abundant, said Diane Buhler, founder of the Friends of Palm Beach group that volunteers to pick up trash on town beaches.

Hurricane Beryl First Storm of Season, Forecast to Fizzle
Small tropical storm #2 in the Atlantic strengthened into Hurricane Beryl early Friday morning, the first hurricane of the season. "The system is forecast to degenerate into an open trough east of the Lesser Antilles over the weekend," states a forecast advisory on the National Hurricane Center's website.
