Tobyhanna Army Depot 2019 Industry Day Retrospect
"Tobyhanna Army Depot is one of the largest growing companies in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We experienced and are very proud of our 35% growth, and we could not have done this without our industry partners" said Colonel Nathan M. Swartz, Commander Tobyhanna Army Depot as he welcomed the 300 plus attendees to the April 9, 2019 Industry Day event.


 
There was a tremendous turn out for this year's Industry Day event. The right balance between networking, facility updates, and future plans were well-received by attendees.
 
Jeffrey Box, President & CEO of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance was a guest speaker on the agenda and added to the day's list of economic development professionals. Mr. Box explained, with pride, the support the NEPA Alliance has provided to Tobyhanna Army Depot and to the regional industry partners.
 
Robert Edmunds, Strategic Business Analyst of the Public Works Division, spoke to the attendees about installation services contract opportunities,"Tobyhanna garrison has a $40 M budget for infrastructure maintenance, repairs, and additions to the facility which covers 4.31 million square feet of buildings on 398 acres."

Boots to Business Reboot    
      
Are you starting or growing a Veteran-Owned Business? Then you should consider attending the Wednesday, May 8th Boots to Business Reboot being held at the THINK Center, 7 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
 
The NEPA Alliance Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is a sponsor, and a PTAC Team member will discuss the basics of government contracting and veteran set-aside programs. 
 
The Introduction to Entrepreneurship program is open to veterans of all eras, servicemembers (including members of the National Guard and Reserve) and their spouses. Participants will be provided an overview of business ownership as a career vocation, an outline and knowledge of the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition and an introduction to available public and private sector resources.
