A Letter from the Village President
Rockets Win!

On behalf of the Village Board and all our residents, I would like to congratulate the Richmond-Burton Community High School football team. The Rockets, with a record of 13-0, will be playing in the IHSA State Finals Friday night at 7:00pm at the Northern Illinois University Huskie Stadium in DeKalb. My wife, Brenda, and I will be heading there to cheer on our Rockets and hope many of you will join us. If you can’t make the trip Bricks & Ivy Sports Tavern and The Grove Pub & Grill will both have the game on live. If you want to watch from home, I found these stations that will be carrying the live broadcast: Mediacom -The U 109, over the air antenna - The U 26.2, and IHSA.TV on the internet. Please review your options before the game starts.

It is very seldom a team ever makes it to the State Finals. It is an accomplishment of hard work, dedication, and working together as a team. We congratulate the players, coaches and fans for bringing our community together to celebrate a great accomplishment.

Go Rockets!

Blast from the Past
You could get some good advice from barber Joe as he cut your hair in the barbershop in the back of the confectionery store. Afterward, he'd sell you one of the best malted milks with ice-cream he ordered from Janesville, WI and picked up at the train station. Oh, and don't forget to pick up a cigar on the way out! This building still stands at 8016 Blivin Street. Learn more about Joe and his many talents in next week's eNews!
