Inspire Theater Presents "Yankee Doodle Dandy: Song and Dance Man"  Be sure to check out Inspire Theater's musical "Yankee Doodle Dandy: Song and Dance Man." Come see the show at the Westland Center for the Arts, located at 33455 Warren Rd. Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings.  Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location:

Friends of the Library
  • The Friends of the Library will meet on Tuesday, July 10 at 2:00 p.m. at The Westland Public Library, located at 6123 Central City PKWY.
Civil Service 
  • There will be an emergency Civil Service special meeting on Tuesday, July 10 at 3:00 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.
Library Board
  • The Library Board will meet on Wednesday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m. at The Westland Public Library, located at 6123 Central City PKWY. 
Kids Day at the Farmers & Artisans Market  - Come down to the Westland Farmers Market for Kids Day! Enjoy a day of family fun with children's music, crafts, balloons, story time, goodie bags, and a free children's book give away.  Kids Day is on Thursday, July 12 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion located at 1901 N Carlson.  The Market will be open place Thursday  through October. North American Unicycle Convention and Competition - Come to the annual week-long unicycling competition in which U.S. and Canadian unicyclists compete in a number of events including freestyle competitions, Uni races, track and field events, distance races, urban riding, hockey, and basketball. The Unicycle Street Riding Competition will be on Saturday, July 14 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Concrete Jungle, located at 36675 Ford Rd. Summer Reading Program - Join the Jefferson Barnes Reading Room in their summer reading program! The program is made for kids 5 - 15 years old and they can earn prizes just for reading. Kids can join at any time during the summer at the Jefferson Barnes Community Vitality Center Reading Room, located at 32150 Dorsey Street.

Meet Up and Eat Up -  Meet Up and Eat Up was created to ensure that children in lower-income areas could continue to receive nutritious meals during long school vacations, when they do not have access to the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Programs. Meet Up and Eat Up will be held at the Jefferson Barnes Community Vitality Center, located at 32150 Dorsey Street,  Monday - Thurday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. from now until August 16.


July Golf Special - Visit the Westland Municipal Golf Course this month and take advantage of the July golf special! The offer includes 9 holes of golf and a cart for only $15.00. This special runs until the end of the month at the Westland Municipal Golf Course, located at 500 South Merriman.
