I am excited to announce that FCCB now offers a fully electronic online mortgage application and process. You can request a free consultation, fill out and submit an application, and communicate with our team through our online portal. You'll also find other helpful resources like calculators, forms, and checklists to keep the process simple and keep you informed. Cathy Lincoln Cancer Fund donation
pink_ribbon.jpgProceeds raised from a chipping contest at last month's API Golf Tournament in Farmington will help women of  San Juan County who are receiving cancer treatment, such as diagnostic testing, medication, and travel.  FCCB and M&R Trucking co-sponsored their spot on the course, and had fun with the players as they stopped by. Both businesses sincerely thank those who participated and donated so graciously.

Insight: 12 Tips for Protecting Your Mobile Device
Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are often overlooked as being vulnerable to cyber threats, which is why criminals are targeting with greater frequency. FCCB encourages safeguarding sensitive information on any device used to connect to the internet, by following these 12 tips:
  1. Use the passcode lock on mobile devices. This will make it more difficult for thieves to access information if lost or stolen. Passwords should be complex, not easy to guess.
  2. Log out completely when finished with a mobile banking session.
  3. Protect devices from viruses and malicious software, or malware, just like you do for your computer by installing mobile security software.
  4. Use caution when downloading apps. Apps can contain malicious software, worms, and viruses. Beware of apps that ask for unnecessary permissions or access to stored information.
  5. Download the updates for your phone and mobile apps.
  6. Avoid storing sensitive information like passwords or social security numbers on your mobile device.
  7. Tell your bank immediately if you change your phone number or lose your mobile device.
  8. Be aware of shoulder surfers. The most basic form of information theft is observation. Be aware of your surroundings especially when entering sensitive information.
  9. Wipe mobile devices before donating, selling, or trading using specialized software or the manufacturer's recommended technique. Some software allows you to wipe your device remotely if it is lost or stolen.
  10. Beware of mobile phishing. Avoid opening links and attachments in emails and texts, especially from senders you don't know. And be wary of pop-ups claiming that your device is infected (other than those from your security provider).
  11. Limit use of public Wi-Fi. Public connections aren't secure. Don't perform banking transactions on a public network. If you need to access your account, disable Wi-Fi and switch to your mobile network. Consider using a virtual private network (VPN) app to secure and encrypt your communications when connecting to a public Wi-Fi network.
  12. Report any suspected fraud to your bank immediately.
