Making Spirits Bright ... BELIEVE
BELIEVE
Believe is included in the holiday theme this year in decorations, clothes, home accessories, and cards. Designers assume if we believe in something positive, it will generate hope and faith. In this unsettling world, the pandemic, and economic crises many people have lost hope. Seeing "Believe" on these items encourages us to think and focus on possibilities.

We can use our imagination along with positive declarations to bring us to a place to believe in and visualize changes as well as receiving our desires. Therefore, the theme "Believe" can possibly be essential to our mental and emotional well-being. Making spirits bright by believing not only helps you but influences others. Remember, not only must we focus on the concept of "Believe" but taking positive actions is a critical component of the concept "Believe". Also, we might not always get what we want, but there is something good that will come from it.
Making Spirits Bright ...COMPASSION
A Heart of Compassion: Non-Profit Organizations
This year has been like no other in the United States – a pandemic, civil unrest, economic hardship, hunger, and death in mass proportions. Many families and individuals have experienced loss of jobs, income, their homes and sadly loss of loved ones due to COVID.

Non- profit organizations have provided financial assistance to those in need; conducted food drives – providing meals to hungry families. Many individuals have volunteered their time to assist.

No matter the situation, Non-profits have exhibited a heart of compassion – a heart that has been touched by another's misfortune; and responded to the need not reluctantly or under compulsion but as a Non-profit organization that delights in the welfare of those suffering hardship in this country.
Compassion is an emotional response when perceiving suffering and involves an authentic desire to help alleviate that suffering. It is true caring, something deeply seated in
our emotions as we respond to another in need. Most importantly, compassion involves a genuine desire to act, to do something to alleviate another’s suffering, and to be with another in their suffering.

In this holiday season, traditionally a season of giving, the need is greater than ever before. As we reflect on this year, most of us have been affected emotionally or physically, but we can still lift someone else’s spirit through acts of love and kindness.

Making Spirits Bright ...LOVE
Love Looks Good on You
Love is a word we can wear universally without saying a word, similar to a smile. As an action verb it requires doing something. Love, compassion and believe work as a team and makes the spirit brighter, not only for us to shine but to help others.

The newly elected (Missouri's first Black) Congresswoman Cori Bush, said it in a moving way in her acceptance speech, November 3, 2020. Although she spoke about what love means to her to serve her constituents, this is a powerful message for all of us. Hear her message here: Cori Bush Speech
Love is the greatest gift of all. The more we give and share the more beautiful we are as "Love Looks Good" on Us.
