Robots and Coding = Summer Fun!
Students were closing out the first session of summer school last week at Heritage Elementary School by putting what they have learned into practice! Over their two week session students participated in robotics and coding lessons.

They were then able to take what they have learned and programmed their robots to play games and music! At GGUSD the hardwork and learning continue year round. #GGUSDSummerSuccess
Three Graduating Seniors Receive Scholarships
from the Angels Baseball Foundation
Congratulations to Santiago's Jennifer Navarette, La Quinta's Mariah Olvera, and Rancho Alamitos' Phillip Huynh for being selected as recipients of scholarships from the Angels Baseball Foundation. The scholarship the three students received covers any "unmet need" provided from any previously earned scholarships providing them with a "full ride". This makes it possible for the students to graduate in four years without any student loan debt.

Jennifer will be attending UCLA., Mariah will be attending CSU Humboldt, and Phillip will be attending UC Santa Barbara.

Art In Action!
Santiago High School recently participated in “Parachutes for the Planet,” a national movement that invites students to come together and use their artistic talents to express concern for protecting our natural environment. The parachute created by students in Santiago High School’s Sustainability Council will be displayed at the Zero Hour Youth Climate March on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., July 19-21.  #GGUSDPRIDE   Click here to read about it!
