Although many things have shut-down, pivoted and changed in numerous ways, art endures. As the oldest communication tool in the world, art can reflect, reimagine and revolutionize society and transform individuals. Its relevance today as a way to share lived experience, expand cultural understanding, and create positive change cannot be overestimated.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis of systemic racism and the turmoil of political chaos and disinformation, many people have found more time to reflect and more inspiration to find unique modes of expression. Forty-six such people have generously shared their work with the Galleries at WORK_SPACE and are exhibited in our PERSPECTIVES OF A PANDEMIC exhibit which opens today Saturday, Nov. 28th, 2020!!
WORK_SPACE celebrates #Small Business Saturday with not only the opening of the exhibit but also with a small and socially distant Holiday Popup Shoppe from 10a-4p. And while you are downtown, please support and enjoy the other businesses on and around Main Street participating in the LOVE LOCAL / GIFT LOCAL activities. And on Sunday 11/29, we are also part of the new National Campaign for Artists Sunday, where people are encouraged to shop art. Although the Gallery will be closed, you can view most of the exhibit online.
We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and continue to find many things and people to be grateful for!!
Sincerely,
Stacey Zackin, WORK_SPACE Manager
