Judging will occur September 19-28, 2018. Criteria categories total 350 points and include:

- 25 points - Proficiency in agriculture production
- 25 points - Farm visit
- 25 points - Planning for the next generation
- 25 points - Innovation
- 50 points - Conservation
- 50 points - Community Involvement
- 50 points - Dedication to agriculture
- 25 points - Application submission
- 25 points - Judge's discretion points
The Department of Business Development will recognize one outstanding farm and farm family that exemplifies the heritage of farming in Washington County in October 2018.
