NEASE 2020-2021 PARKING UPDATE
Thank you to the students who submitted a parking application by the April 15 th deadline for the 2020-2021 School Year. We wish we could accommodate every student that applied for a parking tag, unfortunately we have limited parking available on campus. All parking applications that were submitted by the April 15 th deadline have been reviewed. Tags were awarded to every senior that applied (excluding twins) and some juniors. We will hold the applications and will complete a second round of awarding 100 parking tags after July 12th. Due to Covid-19, we had many juniors who were planning on taking Dual Enrollment but have been unable to take qualifying tests. After we ensure everyone who needs to drive to school can, we will then randomly select remaining juniors off the application list.

Due to Covid-19, we are only accepting payments through the SchoolPay payment link.  Payments must be received by the May 15, 2020 deadline or the parking tag will be forfeited to someone on the waiting list. ONLY students who were selected will have access to use the link to pay. Parking tags are non-transferable and non-refundable.

If you have any parking questions, please check out our most frequently asked questions on the Nease website: https://www-nhs.stjohns.k12.fl.us/parking/

YEARBOOKS

UNF COVID-19 Update
The University of North Florida is closely monitoring the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and has implemented the following changes to protect the health of prospective students. Students will be given the option to change their start term from Summer to Fall 2020: Here is a link for additional details:

Message from College Board – SAT Update
College Board is working to ensure that students will have opportunities to take the SAT ®  to make up for this spring’s lost administrations.  They have added a new SAT administration for Saturday, September 26, 2020.  This date will be for the SAT only, in the United States and internationally, with no SAT Subject Tests™ available. Sunday testing for religious reasons will be on September 27.
Registration for the 2020-21 SAT administrations will open the week of May 26. At that point, June registrants will be able to transfer their seat to a 2020-21 administration. All other students in the high school class of 2021 who don't have SAT scores will also have early access to register for the August, September, and October administrations. This includes students who had registered for March or May and had their registrations canceled and refunded. For each administration this year, we're also preparing to significantly expand our capacity.
Our top priorities are the health and safety of students and educators. Please note we'll only move forward with the administrations if it's safe to do so from a public health standpoint.
If you have questions, call Customer Service at 866-756-7346 (domestic) or +1-212-713-7789 (international). We'll also regularly update our  webpage  with information.

MEDIA CENTER SCHOOLOGY GROUP
All our students are enrolled in our “Nease High School Media Center” group page in Schoology. If your student does not have access to it, here is the code to enroll in this group:
2M3J-N33F-QCWQH
PLEASE encourage your student to check this group page regularly, as I share resources, updates, mc information, Media Monday clips, and lots of other information for our students to support them during this time of distance learning. I will also be posting information regarding the process for textbook and library books return in the next few weeks.

MEDIA MONDAYS WITH MILIAN
Now posted on Schoology in our “Nease High School Media Center” group page and ALL students always have access to it. Here is the link for this this past Monday, April 27th: https://youtu.be/kgi4K6ixZvw

TEXTBOOK RETURNS
We know many of our students still have library books and textbooks at home. The school district is working on a plan for the safe return of all materials and we will have more information for you in the next few weeks. In the meantime, please keep all items safe at home. Students WILL NOT be charged any fines for library books and/or textbooks as long as they are returned and not lost or damaged.

FREE MICROSOFT OFFICE
All our students have access to the web version of Microsoft Office following these simple steps:
1.   Using Chrome or Firefox, go to our Nease website and click on “Links for Students”
2.   Click on the “Microsoft Office 365” icon and sign in with your username and password.
3.   Once the app is open, students have access to Outlook (email) and all Office products (Word, Excel, PPT, Publisher, etc)
4.    NOTE : You cannot be logged into Microsoft Office 365 and Schoology at the same time. It causes conflict.
5.   As students of St. Johns County, you are also able to download all the office products directly to your computer without having to depend on using the web app. Students may download these products on up to 5 devices. Click on this link for your FREE download. https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/advantage/

FREE Reading/Audiobook resources!
1.    MackinVia has provided ALL our students with access to more than 1,500 of ebooks through their app. Students can download the app to their phone or device, search for our school (Allen D. Nease High School). To login they will use their s# (s######) and their password they use for Schoology and all other district apps. Once they are in, they will see all the ebooks they can “check out” and read on their devices or one of the 28 audiobooks we currently own.
2.     Our Nease students can STILL check out library books from our library. On M, W, & F – I can meet them in the bus loop between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. to hand them the books they would like. However, first they must check our online card catalog – Destiny to find the book(s) they would like. Then they will need to email me or message me on Schoology listing the titles they would like to check out and the day they want to pick up their book(s).
