EEF NEWS April, 2020
EEF COVID-19 Update
We hope this e-mail finds you and your loved ones in good health. COVID-19 has affected every aspect of our lives with little left untouched, including the Educational Excellence Foundation (EEF).

Uncorked, our Wine Tasting and Strolling Dinner, had to be cancelled this year. We made the decision to cancel for a number of reasons. Most importantly, out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our community. We will be excited to celebrate next year. Save the date of April 23, 2021. We can't wait to get our community together again.

Our second largest fundraiser, the Back to School Bash is pending. We are waiting on guidance from the State of Michigan and the CDC as to when the public can gather. We will work with P-CCS to determine the best and safest way to welcome students back to school in the Fall.

The EEF Finance Committee has been taking a deep dive into our budget with our two largest fundraisers compromised this year. In an effort to balance our operating budget for the remainder of the year, the EEF Board voted to furlough our Executive Director, Gretchen Ward, for the period of May 1- July 31. This was a joint decision between the Board and Gretchen, as it allows the foundation to preserve cash in the short term, and for Gretchen to have dedicated time to actively support her P-CCS 4th and 6th graders as they transition to online learning.

During this time we will still be conducting limited business and will be responsive to the needs and requests from P-CCS thanks to help from EEF Trustees. A direct and compelling headline
EEF Prepares to Support the P-CCS Community

As P-CCS prepares for the 2020-21 school year, the EEF is looking forward to being responsive to the needs of our P-CCS Community. We know that COVID-19 is causing financial challenges to many in our P-CCS community. Some of these financial challenges that pertain to school and school-related activities can be met with our “Level the Learning Field” funds.

The EEF believes that by supporting Plymouth-Canton Community School students with nutrition, clothing, access to technology and other needs, we are able to help level the learning field so all students will come to school ready to learn.

There was a need for these funds pre-COVID-19, and we know that the need will be even greater when school resumes.  To learn more about these funds or to make a donation, click HERE.
