Your home might need some TLC after a cool and rainy winter. Now that the weather is improving, consider spring cleaning the outside of your home! You'll get fresh air and a refreshed home that you can enjoy all summer long. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Remove all weeds from your lawn, driveway, patio, sidewalks, etc.
  • Pressure wash your home's exterior, your driveway, front steps (any surface that isn't wood or delicate).
  • Wash winter's grime from the outside of your windows.
  • Trim and prune trees and shrubs to encourage growth and eliminate an untidy appearance.

Question of the Month: What should I do before starting a digging project?

April is National Safe Digging Month! If you're planning a digging or landscaping project this spring, always dial 811 a few days before you start , regardless of the depth of your project. Why? Even a small project could put you at risk for striking an underground utility, possibly resulting in serious injury, costly repairs, and service disruptions. Everyone who calls 811 a few days before digging is connected to a local notification center that will take their information and communicate it to local utility companies. Professional locators will then visit the dig site to mark the approximate location of underground utility lines with spray paint, flags or both. Once a site has been accurately marked, it is safe to begin digging around the marked areas. For more information, visit http://www.call811.com .
