23 S. Hughes Street, Hamilton
We had 3 super productive build days last week. Thursday, we had our last team build with the outstanding gang from e Plus Technology, inc. They have been with us for 5 team builds and for the most part got the home to where it is today. We are further along than we ever have been 5 weeks into the build, not only further but better to boot. What a great group of hardworking, fun to be around folks, an absolute pleasure to work and build with. A true example of the community at work, thank you all. They set the front and rear doors, did a bunch of interior carpentry and got the shed walls finished and raised. Enjoyed a delicious donated lunch from ResQ BBQ...thanks to Chuck and Valerie Meyer for delivering the food to the site.

Friday a few guys from C2 Operations came out and shingled the house, they did an outstanding job. Saturday was an open build and again the gang rocked, the 11 windows were installed and trimmed out, a goodly part of the fiber cement board was hung, plus most of the interior nailers, plastic in the crawl space, and various other carpentry projects.

We will not work this Thursday, as we are in good shape schedule wise and I thought it a good idea to give the gang a day off. We will however work on Saturday as we have a team build with our friends from Integrity Applications Incorporated, so we will close the site to them and crew leads only. Saturday we will continue hanging the fiber cement board, aka Hardie, but a different brand name. We will a trim around the house with PVC. We will also set the roof trusses on the shed, sheath it, paper it and may get to shingles. Then we may fiber cement board it, and generally finish it up. Lots of varied tasks to complete. The trades are starting in on the house, Anderson Mechanical led by our longtime friend and benefactor Bill Anderson will begin the HVAC install later this week. Soon thereafter M.E.Flow will start the plumbing install followed by our good friends from Beckstrom Electric. While they all are at work we will continue with exterior tasks such as soffit, deck rails and stairs for the front and back porches, and finish up the shed, we might also start painting the exterior. Once the trades are done we'll get a framing inspection, then we'll insulate and begin finishing out the interior.

Thanks,
Bud
