 Art, Beauty & Appreciation!

Last evening we hosted our first ever Family Paint Night. Our common space was transformed into a painting studio with spots for all of our painting-teams to create and plenty of snacks to keep them focused. MFCS Parent, Kim Robinson (the even organizer) and her friend and accomplished painter, Hannah Cole led the evening program. As music played in the background, participants carefully and peacefully created. The results were amazing! Fun was had by all and this new and engaging fundraiser brought in $625! A HUGE thank you to Kim and Hannah for taking the lead on this and to Amanda for securing the snacks. And of course thanks to all our participants. Hoping this can become a regular thing!

Last Friday night, we held our Annual Game Night. Thank you SO much to Lauren D for masterminding the event. So many parents and friends helped out which made this year's event a great success!

Our next Family Fun event is next Thursday's Spaghetti Dinner at Manchester School of Technology, MST. You can reserve a seating time or if you can't make it to the event, but still would love a night off from cooking (say after an afternoon of sports), please consider ordering a to-go meal! Details on the event can be found below.

Next Saturday, April 20th, in honor of Earth Day we will be holding a Mill Falls Beautification Event. Love to paint and do DIYs? We need you! Please see below for more details!!

And speaking of Earth Day...In celebration of our incredible planet, our students will be engaging in a number of recycled art projects. In order to help make the day a success, we are accepting donations of the following:
  • Clean gatorade, soda or water bottles (any size including 2 liters, 20 oz)
  • Plastic Bags (like the type you get from the grocery store)
  • Contact Paper
  • Twine
Thank you!!! If you have any questions about the particular project your child's classroom will be working on, please contact his/her classroom teacher.

And the prizes just keep on coming. Each day's winner is pulled by a student volunteer and we call/email the winner and post it on our Mill Falls FaceBook page. Thanks to ALL for making this fundraiser so successful. With a few last sales coming we reached a total in gross sales of just over $10,000! Feel free to make any late sales... every dollar raised goes to help our schools!

Earlier this week, we received a thank you note from the NH Food Bank. Our recent 6th Year Student-led Food Drive generated a donation that was 188 pounds and amounted to approximately 157 meals for our food insecure NH neighbors. Thank you!

A nnual
Spaghetti Dinner at
Manchester Technology School
Thursday, April 18,  5:30-7

Take the night off from cooking and come join us at the  Manchester School of Technology's on campus restaurant,  100 Gerald Connors Circle, Manchester,  for an all you can eat spaghetti dinner!

The 2019 Spaghetti Dinner "Friend-raiser" will be co-hosted by Mill Falls and MST (Manchester School of Technology).  It will be a great opportunity for our two schools to introduce NH's public to the 2 innovative public school options that serve our state's students.

Tickets to attend the dinner and for the to-go option are now available, and can be purchased online by clicking here, or by filling out an order form that has been sent home in backpacks.

  Teacher Appreciation Week: May 6-10

The week after we return from April Vacation is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our Room Parents are working on some plans for the week and will be sharing them soon.

Please keep an eye out for ideas to celebrate our dedicated and nurturing staff - from the front desk, to every classroom, and all the way to the back where our Special Educators, Interventionists and Reading Coach hang their hats. While so many of you express your thanks throughout the year, this week gives families and students a great way to share their appreciation in small ways all week long and celebrate the adults that support them every day. Thank YOU for all you share!
