Williston Economic Development is preparing for its annual Holiday Open House on Friday, December 6. The community is invited to drop by between 5 and 8 p.m. at our office located at 113 4th Street East.

Construction underway on New Williston Taproom
Williston Economic Development - Construction is underway on the new Hops and Berry Taproom located in the Renaissance on Main building in Downtown Williston. Hops and Berry will offer a wide selection of craft beers and wines on a self-serve pay-by-the-ounce basis so customers can experience beverages they might not otherwise try. The new business received a STAR Fund grant from the City of Williston. 
Meg-A-Latte opens New Location
Meg-A-Latte has opened their newest location at the former Pizza Hut site in Williston. The new building, called "The Loft," received a STAR Fund grant from the City of Williston.
Williston Herald - After months of hard work, one of Williston's favorite coffee shops has finally opened up its newest location at the former Pizza Hut site. Meg-A--Latte opened on November 15. A day earlier, the original location on 13th Street West closed. Owner Megan Wold said that store will soon be undergoing its own remodel as Lounge Thirty 3, a 21 and over wine, beer and espresso lounge. Wold hopes to have it open by Christmas. Read More
Oilfield Accident prompts Williston Resident to open New Gym
Joe and Kacey Vargas opened The Pitt 10 months ago in Williston. The business received a STAR Fund grant from the City of Williston.
KUMV-TV - The ups and downs of life can be difficult, but for Joe Vargas of Williston, five years ago, an oil-field accident that left him without a leg ended up helping him fill a need for the area. The Pitt caters to people who are recovering from injuries and disabilities. "I couldn't find any facilities around town that could equip me for my rehab, so we started looking into gym equipment that would help people with injuries, disabilities to recover faster, gain muscle quicker, and get back to normal life," said Vargas.  Read More
Williston Entrepreneur makes Unique Guitars
Beau Theige's work is on  display at the MonDak Heritage Center in Sidney, Montana until January 12.
KUMV-TV - Music and the arts go together like strings on a guitar. Now, a North Dakota entrepreneur is composing instruments that are functional art. A Williston native has become an acclaimed six-string artisan, whose work is displayed in art galleries and sought after by musicians all over the world. Read More
Sloulin Redevelopment moves Forward

Williston Herald - As crews begin dismantling the site of the former airport, the city is beginning to entertain offers for the sale of portions of Sloulin Field for redevelopment. City Administrator David Tuan presented the City Commission with two proposals regarding the development of approximately 40 acres of land at the Sloulin site. The city began accepting proposals a little less than a month ago, closing out the period of advertisement on Nov. 7.  Read More
Construction begins on New Wind Farm near Tioga
Minot Daily News - Enel Green Power announced Tuesday the company has started construction of the 299-megawatt Aurora wind farm in Mountrail and Williams counties. Aurora will be responsible for approximately 300 jobs at the peak of construction and 12 to 15 permanent jobs during operations. It is expected to generate around $85 million in new tax revenue and payments to landowners over the life of the project. Read More
MonDak Ag Summit December 12 in Sidney
The 3rd Annual MonDak Ag Research Summit will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Richland County Fairgrounds Event Center in Sidney. Williston Economic Development is an event sponsor.
Sidney Herald - As 2019 nears a close, farmers and ranchers have a lot of questions: What's the deal with this weather? What do we need to brace for next? What can be done with all that damaged grain?
