SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: BE PART OF "THE NET"

This year, the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce will embark on new territory with our very own magazine for members -
the net . We are very excited to announce this publication and how you can be a part of it. We thought about creating a Chamber Directory and knew that it would probably sit on a shelf and not be read, so to encourage you to learn more about fellow members, member services and member events, we decided to create our very own magazine. With the help of Macomb Now Magazine , we anticipate a 24-page glossy magazine, with our own look and feel, telling the stories only we can tell about chamber members and the people behind the businesses the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce interacts with every day.

Any advertising questions you have can be answered by Macomb Now's Ad Sales Representative Diane Bowles at (586.622.6621 x8) or the Chamber's Business Development Director Gina Rieck (586.731.5400 x15).

CHAMBER REWIND...

We welcomed several new business to the Chamber community this month! Two of the largest ribbon cuttings we helped organize were for Grupo Antolin and Cosworth.

Pictured below is Grupo Antolin, one of the largest vehicle interior manufacturers in the world. Located in Shelby Township, the new 368,000 square-foot facility costing over $61 million dollars brings state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to our local region. One of Grupo Antolin's larger projects is for FCA's Dodge Ram Truck. Antolin produces overhead systems and door panels for the popular vehicle. We are excited to welcome Grupo Antolin to the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber and wish them much success in our thriving Macomb County!

We also welcomed Cosworth, a large engineering company headquartered in the United Kingdom. Cosworth opened this new plant right here in Shelby Township; the company's first in Michigan. This new $50 million facility will serve as Cosworth's North American headquarters and is projected to bring about 130 jobs to our local area. We are thrilled to welcome Cosworth to Michigan, Macomb County and to the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber!

M-59 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE FROM MDOT:

Last week saw a lot of activity on the M-59 project with the closing of traffic at Romeo Plank. MDOT's contractor has been working every day to complete this work in the 10-day time period. In addition to the work at Romeo Plank, the contractor has continued to work simultaneously on the rest of the project as well.  Workers were able to place the first lift of HMA on the entire stretch west of Garfield (see picture of the paving on westbound at the tie-in point between the two years of work).  This week, MDOT is preparing to place the next lift of HMA on the four remaining turnarounds and on the rest of the mainline. As soon as this work is done, MDOT will switch traffic to the inside and begin work on the outside two lanes. At that time, they will be closing the intersection of Romeo Plank and Hall Road and traffic will be detoured via Garfield to 19 Mile (or 21 Mile to the north) and then back to Romeo Plank.

If you have any questions on the project, please feel free to contact MDOT.
