The 2019 AALAS National election will open in June. Want to vote in this year's election? Here's how:
- By April 30, please ensure we have your correct email address, as that is required to vote. For security reasons, generic or shared email addresses are not allowed for the election.
- Log in to the Election 2019 page to review all of the candidates, including the Vice President-Elect candidates, Marc S. Hulin and Robert H. Quinn.
- Be sure to check out the open seats appearing on this ballot.
- Watch your email for information and links to cast your ballot on the voting website. This site is a different site than the AALAS website.

ALL Launches New Certificate Program
|
|
The
AALAS Learning Library
(ALL) has launched a Laboratory Animal Research Support certificate program. This program will provide a foundation of knowledge that will aid in understanding the work performed in biomedical research.
This is a new opportunity for staff with no or minimal hands-on animal experience.
To earn the certificate, take the 11 required courses, take 3 species-specific electives, and pass each course exam. This certificate program is free with a subscription to the ALL.

AALAS Foundation Seeks Director-at-Large Volunteers
|
|
The AALAS Foundation is now accepting applications and resumes to fill three Director-at-Large positions to be seated on its Board at the conclusion of the 2019 AALAS National Meeting in Denver, Colorado. These volunteer positions are open to all AALAS members who wish to support the AALAS Foundation and participate in its public outreach and awareness efforts.

|

April's webinar,
Right Numbers for Animal Protocols
, will be held on Wednesday, April 24 from 12-1:30 PM CT. The webinar will review types of outcome variables, hypotheses testing, and sample sizes.
The May and June webinars are a duo, Bioimaging Parts I and II.
The first,
Bioimaging Part I: Imaging Scientific Strategy,
will be held on Wednesday, May 22 from 12:00-1:30 PM CT. This webinar will cover building and using an imaging program, the advantages and disadvantages of common modalities, and criteria for selecting equipment.
The second part of the duo,
Bioimaging Part II: Equipment, Facilities, and Workflows
, will be held on Wednesday, June 19 from 12:00-1:30 PM CT. This webinar will discuss how to d
esign and operate a successful imaging program (k
ey stake holders and w
orkflow requirements), how to assemble a team with the expertise needed for a successful program, and the use of computing resources to support data structures and data storage in a bioimaging facility.
