ELCA Youth Gathering: This Changes Everything!
Our Rocky Mountain Synod youth and adult leaders have just returned home from the 2018 ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, TX. If you have been following the RMS on Facebook, you have seen some of our favorite moments!

If you are feeling left out of the fun, check out the links below for a taste of our time together as the Church Together with 31,000 of our siblings in Christ from across the church!

RMS Leaders on the Main Stage!
We are proud to say that 3 RMS leaders shared their gifts and stories as part of the Mass Gathering:

Joy Emenyonu, St. Mark's Aurora was one of 3 young adult emcees that guided the show each night.

Deacon Erin Power, Office of the Bishop, shared a short Bible study and reflection.

Pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber, House for all Denver, shared how God's grace changes everything.
Youth Gathering Synod Day Sermon
On Saturday, June 30, RMS participants at the ELCA Youth Gathering joined together for Synod Day. Led by our youth leaders, we joined together for conversation, worship, and play. With great joy I shared my reflections on the story of the day, The Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35)

PRIDE Re-visited: LGBTQ Youth Homelessness
The three terms LGBTQ, youth and homelessness upset me when put together. Last week, the  Colorado Coalition for the Homeless  hosted a panel on LGBTQ youth homelessness as part of their education series, bringing light and resources to a struggling community.

Sitting in the room as a straight, cisgender woman surrounded by allies and advocates, all I felt was support for those who were not privileged enough to be in that room too. Those in attendance sought resources for  LGBTQ  youth and asked difficult questions that some of the panelists could not fully answer. My peers were educated on these issues, and sometimes knew more than the panelists did.
