Share the Plate
There's no UBarU without U!
In April, all checks and envelopes marked "Share the Plate" and half of all undesignated cash will go to support UBarU.  The Unitarian Universalist Camp and Retreat Center is located in the storied Hill Country near Kerrville, Texas. UBarU serves UU congregations and other groups consistent with the mission of providing a welcoming, peaceful place to gather for spiritual, educational, and recreational purposes in harmony with our Unitarian Universalist Principles and the land.

Special Notices
Deadline Sunday, 4/14 for auction submissions
Hey dude you are almost out of time!
You still have time to submit your auction donation(or 2 or more), if you hurry. So use our fancy website that have great suggestions or fill out a hard copy at church. We can't wait to see your talents or special treasures.
We hope to see you at the auction on Saturday, 4/27.  Our biggest social event will start at 6:00 with refreshments and end at 9:00. Babysitting will be provided.

Easter: Baby/Child Dedication
During the Easter service at Live Oak, we will be having a "Child Dedication" ceremony. This is where the congregation and the parents/guardians dedicate ourselves to the child. If you are a member or intend to make Live Oak your community, and would like your baby/child to be a part of this ceremony, please email minister@liveoakuu.org. More information

Fellow Hands on Housing Volunteers!
Note that due to rain prediction for this Saturday, we will not be working on the home.  iAct has rescheduled all this Spring's projects to next Fall. I look forward to working with all of you then. - Wayne McCullough

Women's Labyrinth Group
Sunday, April 14, 6:30-9 p.m.: Women's Labyrinth Group (Room 103); We gather for a labyrinth walk and sharing circle. We will create "Wisdom Stones" for our walk, a new idea from the Veriditas labyrinth retreat that I recently attended.  Feel free to bring a song, poem or short reading to share with the
group. The group is open to women high school age and older. Contact: Linda Webster

Finance Committee meeting
Calling all finance wannabes!
At some of our clogging performances, we have audience participation and I tell people in the audience that if you can walk, you can do this dance. Well, if you know that 2 is greater than 1, you can attend a finance committee meeting. This is a great way to learn about some of the inner workings of the church. No experience necessary and no commitment implied in coming to see what it is all about.

When and where: Wednesday, April 17, 6:00 p.m., Room 106.

HELP DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO OUR NEIGHBORS
Live Oak Church will be distributing food to our neighbors. Please volunteer to help with the following tasks:
* Thursday, April 18th @ 1:00 p.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. food needs to be separated into smaller quantities for distribution. Meet at Hill Country Community Ministries, 1005 Lacy Dr, Leander, TX 78641

* Friday, April 19th @ 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in the Live Oak parking lot. This is when we distribute the food to our neighbors. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down the tables, help with the selection of food, and help carry food to our neighbors cars. You do not need to remain the entire 2 & 1/2 hours. Your help is appreciated!

This partnership with Hill Country Community Ministries is the church's "signature project". It is our opportunity to live our Mission of ENRICHING CONNECTIONS with our neighbors in need. Any questions please contact Donna Durbin at: HCCM@liveoakuu.org

In Case You Were Worried
With heavy rain over the weekend, you may have missed water dripping from ceiling tiles and puddles of water on the hallway floors. We have been anxiously waiting for the heavy spring rains since roof repairs were made last fall. Looks like the problem has been solved!
This announcement is brought to you by your Buildings & Grounds Team!

This month we are exploring Transcendentalism and Humanism in our RE classes. This week the focus is on Humanism. As we approach the end of our RE year, are you interested in learning more about what we do in our RE classes? Would observing help you feel confident leading over the summer or next year? We are having an open house on April 14th, May 5th or 12th. Of course, parents are always welcome to observe their child's class, just let us know you are coming.
