Last week, our 5th - 8th graders had English Language Arts (ELA) and math CMAS testing. Testing kicked off with our younger grades cheering on the older students as they walked to their first round of CMAS tests. Our middle school teachers did an amazing job creating fun events each morning and during breaks throughout the day to ensure our students were hyped up and excited for testing. 7th and 8th graders enjoyed some really fun competitions each morning and had some fantastic brain breaks in the afternoons. 5th and 6th graders had a lot of fun building catapults and ended the week with a fun competition to see who built the best one. This week our 3rd and 4th graders will be taking their ELA and math assessments, while 5th and 8th graders will complete their science CMAS testing.
On Thursday evening, Cherry Creek School District honored exceptional volunteers. At CCA, our volunteers are a huge part of our school's success. This year, Mrs. Awada and Mrs. Sourial were celebrated as CCA's exceptional volunteers at a dinner hosted by the district. Their time and dedication to our school is priceless and our entire community is grateful to them and to all of our volunteers.
Our K - 4 graders and their families had an awesome time last Friday evening at Canvas and Cookies. The wonderful Mrs. Shepperd and Mrs. MacFarland helped students and parents paint some really fun pictures, and of course everyone loved eating the delicious cookies.
The Fine Arts Hallway at Cherry Creek High School is exhibiting art from all around the district through April 25th. There are 12 pieces featured from Cherry Creek Academy students. Make sure and stop by to check out the amazing work the students in our district have created.
