Entrepreneurship 101: workshop teaches veterans about business ownership

The Small Business Administration, with the help of some local organizations, is putting on a workshop for veterans in the area looking to open their own business...The workshop is being put on through the SBA, with help from TrainND, the Veterans Business Outreach Center, the North Dakota Women’s Business Center, The Small Business Development Center, Williston Economic Development, the SCORE Association and the Williston Area chamber of Commerce.
Senator visits Cavalier Air Force Station

The 10th Space Warning Squadron Spartans hosted Sen. Kevin Cramer and his staff during a visit to Cavalier Air Force Station, Feb. 21, 2019...He then attended the City of Cavalier Chamber of Commerce meeting, where he highlighted the importance of Cavalier’s mission and stressed his appreciation for the vital support the local community provides the 10th SWS.

Institute

Institute for Organization Management (Institute) is the premier continuing education experience for chamber professionals. Since 1921, the Institute program has educated and empowered chamber executives with the knowledge and skills they need to be leaders in their organizations and industry.

The Institute curriculum is comprised of four week-long sessions. Each session is five days and is offered at five locations across the country annually. With courses on topics such as advocacy, media training, membership, finance, legal issues, human resources, and much more, Institute ultimately educates participants on all facets of running an association. Two Rapid City groups are solidifying an economic partnership. On Tuesday members of the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce voted in favor of its Articles of Incorporation.

More than 200 people attended Thursday night’s Huron Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureu and Greater Huron Development annual meeting and awards banquet at The Plains. Paul and Donna Christen, founders of Christen Group, were awarded the 2019 Mayor’s Award for Excellence by Huron Mayor Paul Aylward.

Four businesses and individuals will be recognized Wednesday at the Germantown Chamber of Commerce’s awards dinner and annual meeting. The event is being held at the Florian Park Conference & Event Center, N112-W18611 Mequon Road.
Former MLB commissioner Bud Selig to keynote Wisconsin Veteran Chamber's conference

Bud Selig , the former commissioner of Major League Baseball and member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, will keynote the Wisconsin Veterans Business Conference in May, which is expected to draw the largest crowd in its four-year history...The conference, regarded as the premier gathering of the veteran business community, will take place May 23 at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and is being presented by the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce.
List is new Cherokee City Administrator

In Cherokee City Council action Tuesday night following a “Meet & Greet” with the public at City Hall, the City announced that Eric List is the new City Administrator replacing former Administrator Sam Kooiker, who resigned in December 2018 to accept the City Manager post in Sheldon...He has worked for the city of Pocahontas since 2010, starting as Economic Development Director and Executive Director of the Pocahontas Chamber of Commerce.
